I would buy the BFG.

The BFG is the fastest and it doesnt have any full versions of games...

And if you buy based on software bundles you are in for a big sorry...

Sorry I just read your rig in your sig and I think that you should know that the 6600gt isnt all that much faster than your 9800pro...about 20% faster at most...

an option would be too spend a little more money and get an x800 XL...

But I would just keep the 9800pro as long its working good for you in games still..

maybe, but even a base 6800 will be about $100 more. so i guess if you're not lacking funds, then go for 6800. personally, i wouldn't get the base 6800... unless i splurged and got a higher end one.

I would go for BFG as well, simply for the lifetime warranty.

It's a gamble. If you can find one that you can softmod to 16 pipes and 6 shaders, then oh hell yes, you'd have a ghetto 6800GT. It really helps the AA and AF. Otherwise a 6600GT should be sufficient if you don't care for AA and AF. On most benchies, the 6600GT and 6800 vanilla about the same at stock.

depending on what kind of computer you have, you can go look at benchmark tests... this will give you some idea on what scores you can attain.

download aquamark, and then register at http://arc.aquamark3.com/arc/arc_userhome.php and you can search through scores and stuff. you can see how other systems compare to your own setup right now. find a similarly configured system and see if their different video card increases the overall score significantly or not.

some of the numbers don't make sense. it says your vram is 370mb?

here's mine: http://arc.aquamark3.com/arc/arc_view.php?run=1561360806

Aquamark score of 53975. I didn't tweak with settings that much and haven't played around with it that much either... but that was my highest rating out of a few runs.

Should've bought my BFG 6800OC, it's gone now... ;)

Yeah, what BMF sells is a bargain IMO.

9800 pro normally scores around 40K. I ran my 6600GT PCIe, and
I got 51K+. The BFG 6800 OC scores 54K+ in Aquamark3. I can
imagine 6800 GT will prolly increase the score to around 58-60K's

In other words, if you go the 6800 route, your improvement will
range from 25% to upward of 50%. The question is: Is that
worth the money you'll spend?
