Where is Amazon.ca located? (in Toronto) I know there is one nearby; like somewhere around Markham. Because they always ship amazon.ca items from there.
Please let me know where I can find the address! Thanks!

Last I heard, Amazon had only one employee in Canada. All the technical/sales/support tasks are handled in the US, and the order fulfilment is outsourced to a company called Assured Logistics (http://www.assuredlogistics.com/).

All of my Amazon.ca shipments come from Assured Logistics, which is on Cantay Rd. in Mississauga, just behind the Heartland Best Buy. It's only a five minute drive from my house so I always get my shipments really quickly.

Used to be Marven Krug. But he's with Victoria-based Abebooks now. I don't know if someone replaced him in the role of GM for Amazon.ca.

That's the only advantage of living in Mississauga. You can choose free standard shipping and it will arrive next day

From what I understand you also have a good mayor. Which is another advantage of living in Mississauga.

So we are not allowed to pick up items from the Assured Logistics at all? Have to wait for shipping? :(
By the way, what free shipping? You mean when you spend over $39?

yes, you pay over 39 for your item, and you get free shipping.

It costs a lot more to arrange a pick up from any store if you are not equipped with any CSRs in the first place. It's a whole warehouse full of people fulfilling orders. In the time it takes to arrange a meeting, a person could easily have fulfilled another 3 orders and pack them in boxes and put it onto the truck

Can you imagine the chaos if Amazon had a local pick up center? I'd prefer to wait an extra day and have it delivered to me.

Another addition: If the pick up process adds zero revenue (if fact makes a loss due to extra time spent and the customers wanting a discount for pickup), what argument is there for this Logistics company to do so?
