I recommend getting the guide book and form book from your post office, fill it out, then use TaxMan to do it (free software, but doesn't tell you what to do)

Use www.quicktaxweb.com as it's super easy.

1) Enter personal info.
2) Enter T4's, T5's, T20xx
3) Print or Ufile

It's free if you make under $20k... great for students and young people.

Just go and pay H&R Block to do it if you are too dumb to follow instructions on that web site or use Google to find some help. Maybe you can pay an RFDer to hold your hand while walking in to the office and wipe your ass for you too.

Just read the tax income book that you can get from a Canada Post outlet

Since you're young you probably have to only fill in the income which is really easy

I agree with this.

If you rather read about it online go to the Canada Revenue Agency website. (http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/individuals/topics/income-tax/menu-e.html)

There is no need to be a jerk about it. Its not like you gave him any helpful info.

Yeah I say dumb sh|t sometimes, and should watch what I say... but this guy is just lazy. I didn't give him useful info cause someone else already did. If that guy didn't tell him to go to the quicktax website and do it online... I would have suggested that. I have to watch what I say to ppl, but seriously this guy shoudln't be so lazy and just do it online on the quicktax website. Guaranteed there are step by step instructions on there.

No, he's not being a jerk. He has a valid point. I don't see how you can take his (initial poster) posts seriously when his writing is like this

Sure...

1) goto www.quicktaxweb.com
2) register and start answering the questions
3) if you have a job, enter your t4's
4) if you have a savings account, enter your t5's
5) if you have tuition credits, enter your t20xx
6) if you have anything else, just ask
7) say 'YES' to GST credits... for some reason, some people say 'NO'
8) 'PRINT' and send or 'UFILE'

Again, it's free if you make less than $20,000...

It took me about 4 minutes to do this year since all my info was saved from previous years.

chill guys....no need to be rude or call people names. The response to OP was harsh, he basically asked for clarification on the three steps. If this is your first time filing taxes, you might not understand what T4's etc are. And it can be overwhelming when you first start off, even reading from a website.

I go by the mantra, "if you don't have anything constructive to say, then don't say anything". Sure he might be lazy and might need some hand holding, but what is it to you ? Doesn't affect you in any way and attacking him doesn't amount to anything. If he needs to learn a lesson, life will teach him that. If he doesn't learn the life lesson, well that is his problem.

As advised previously, pick up the free material at Canada Post, arm yourself with a very simple program (i.e. QuickTax) which is a step-by-step program offering hints and tips along the way.

Well said... I dunno, it degrades the boards to insult people left and right. Just give him some useful advice or write something funny...at least imo.

I'm not worked up about it but at the same time it doesn't take a whole bunch to write my opinion about it.
