Hey folks.

Got Nero (6.6.0.1) installed on some PC's here and most of the time after burning a DVD with a movie, Nero seems to be still locking the drive/volume, so that after ejecting and reloading the disk it still does not find any disk present.
SOmetimes I have to open/close the tray about 5 times until it realises that there's a disk inside and plays it. It does not happen with cdrw or anything else. I have 10 PC's and 2 of them are using W2K and DONT have the problem. All other 8 are running Win98SE and have this problem.

Any ideas ???

I have to use NERO and Win98 on those computers as that's what we have licenses for.

TIA.

Do you have directdrive (or what ever it's called) loaded? The app that lets you use a cdrw "like" a hard disk? Maybe it is the problem?

try the latest version, i think the 6.6.0.1 - 6.6.0.3 is buggy. 6.6.0.8a is the latest.

there's nothing else installed (like that soft to allow dorect writing to the cdrw) and the media is 100% safe.

I test about 1500 LG drives every month and just had to switch some PC's as they were assigned for another task, and the ones I'm using now have Win98SE.

The other 2 pc's are using W2K and have NO problems with the very same version of Nero, same drives, same media. Only the Win98 pcs are giving me the trouble. When I use ROxio it works normally, but I prefer Nero.

I'll try to download the 6.6.0.8 version.
