I am new to wireless router, etc... I am a little worry if anyone will be accessing my wireless router, therefore use my internet or even hack my network...

is there any software package that could monitor my network?

About 70% percent of these access points are unprotected

Then I guess using mac filtering, WEP and turning off your access point when you're not using it (like they say in the article) makes a fair bit of sense. Every little bit helps.

IMO: If I crack your WEP key, it may not necessarily a big deal. Sure I can see where you surf but random people at your isp already could. No one is really anonymous on the web anyway.

Your banking, should you choose to do so over the web, is encrypted with SSL which is quite a bit more difficult to crack to crack than WEP.

Even gmail can be accessed with SSL.

Some wireless routers produce logs of attemted invasions. The only other way to monitor the traffic is to stare at the WAN light and see if it flashes constantly when you are not on your computer.
