View Full Version : Probing: any interest in gently worn Hugo Boss / Arnold suits?

This is weird.

I'm thinking of changing my wardrobe but am having a hard time justifying it since I have about 10 suits. With that many to cycle though, I haven't worn any of them very often.

The ones I'm thinking of selling are either Hugo Boss or Arnold Brant. All are from Harry Rosen and in size 42T which comes with a 35 - 36 waist. I was thinking $500 - 600 would be a price point I'd consider to part with them.

Any interest?

None? Any suggestions on where I can unload them? I'm not interested in the hassle of listing them on eBay. I think anyone that wants to buy used clothing should have the option of seeing them in person first.

There is a used suit place on Broadway at Yonge and Eglington. Just off Yonge (Broadway is north of eg).

But you got to remember, depreciation on suits is probably 75% at least once you wear it. (ie. the Boss I saw there was about $200, which means they didn't even pay that much for it...).

g'luck

then the jacket would be down to his knees.. Hmm.. Cause if he has long arms they could always adjust the sleeve length.

If you told us the name of your boss suit, it may help with selling it. Is it a bruce famous, rosellini, ect..???

I have a longer upper body.

6'2", 32" waist. You're going to need a custom fit suit. That'll cost you at least $1200 with average Coppeley material.

I don't know the name of the suits. I'm just gauging interest ... areyou?

Are you selling one suit or 10 suits for $500?

I know that. Curious as to why you need to know the name of the suit? If you're interested, I would expect that you'd ask for pix.

Let me know if you're genuinely interested and I'll try to take pix of the tag as well.

it's because the name of the suit refers to the cut of the suit. It's often difficult to see how a suit will fit by looking at it, but if you are fremilliar with boss cuts you'd know if a suit will fit you by the name of it.

Take some better pictures and sell the suits on eBay. I once sold an Armani suit that I myself got second hand for more than I paid for it on eBay. As long as it's a "name" suit and a popular color/cut, you'll be able to get a surprising amount per suit, I think better than if you bring them to consignment.

Thanks .. I'm just gauging interest and I've been told this is the forum to post in.

I'm just finding that I'm not needing suits in my new job and it's taking up a LOT of closet space! lol

PFFT NO!

boss black label suits start at 995 and go to like 1200. Why would anybody buy a boss suit for 1500, when for 200 - 300 more you can get a canali. Or heck at 1500 you can get a Paul Smith suit, or a Miu Miu.

gucci starts at about 2500 - 3000, zegna starts at about 995 since zegna is made in mexico now. Last sesaon, zegna suits were a little more pricy since they were made in italy.
