Hey,

A friend of mine has been unemployed for a year so is going back to school to get a Masters, cause employers are all asking for one. He couldn't get into the Canadian Universities, but got into an American one.

Is it possible for him to get some sort of funding like OSAP to fund his studies? As I believe OSAP is only available for Canadian Universities.....

I know he still has previous OSAP loans and wonder if their repayment status will get suspended if he goes back to school at an American university.

Anyone had any experience with this?

yes, it will be suspended if he lets the osap people know through his school that he is a full time student

you shouldnt have much of a problem

at the osap website there is an option to search schools to see if OSAP will cover you if you go there.

Just to see I typed in "Harvard" and OSAP covers harvard.

Kewl, I guess its cause when I was in Uni, I had only seen the OSAP part of the document where it said the University had to be in Canada..

Thanks guys, your information has helped make someone's dreams come true
