"Anyone that makes up their mind before understanding the issue is an idiot"
The whole country's got a f-ed up mentality. We all got a gang mentality. Republicans are f-ing idiots. Democrats are f-ing idiots. Conservatives are idiots and liberals are idiots.
Anyone who makes up their mind before they hear the issue is a f-ing fool. Everybody, nah, nah, nah, everybody is so busy wanting to be down with a gang! I'm a conservative! I'm a liberal! I'm a conservative! It's bull-it!
Be a f-ing person. Listen. Let it swirl around your head. Then form your opinion.
No normal decent person is one thing. OK!?! I got some s-t I'm conservative about, I got some s-t I'm liberal about. Crime - I'm conservative. Prostitution - I'm liberal.

To me left means social-communists and right is capitalist pigs......don't really care about the other little political catagories.

Very well put, if your mind isn't open to every issue, then you dont have a mind to make up, its been done for you.
The parties or sides on every issue want to 'speak' for you to give them the power of numbers, DONT pick a side!
I'm conservative on lots of issues and very liberal on others so I dont call myself a big C or L "team player"
This has spilled into parliament where the majority party makes up the collective minds of the elected representatives.
The party's mind is made up by the PM who's elected only by party members!
To get your vote to count you have to join the party!
Hey! Didn't communist countries try this system?
At least in america there are checks and balances on each set of gov't.
Look at our senate! Its like the two old guys on the Muppets show.
They have to be check'd for a heartbeat every payday.

I think it's fairly hard to judge a party on the platform they present when running for office, no? To me, it makes more sense to judge a party on what they stand for in general, rather than empty promises they make to get elected.
From recent history in both Provincial/Federal governments, the liberals are liars and go against the platforms they run for, but continue to be voted in.. This would suggest a fairly strong party alliance from the majority'ish of Canadians. Or maybe just a complacent mentality from canada as a whole..
Our taxes go up year on year, at a municipal, provincial (Ontario anyways), and generally federal level, and the majority of people in this country continue to elect the same group of people.. and I'm trying to get a grip on why that is the case.
I would consider myself to lean fairly far to the right.. The thought of lower taxes, smaller government, less social spending, and more military spending seems like a direction our country should be heading in, rather than the opposite.

I believe in freedom, so I'm not on the political spectrum. Try this instead:

One problem with the quiz as that someone who might believe in aggression against other countries (eg: Iraq, Iran) or even the Patriot Act in the US (Ken Russell) could fall under the "libertarian" category, even though, by definition, they're not. Its not perfect, but works better than the L-R spectrum.
