I'd like to get something free, that works well. I have a dualboot XP/2000 install, and plan to load up the XP partition images via 2000 when recovering.
Please recommend utilities (that you can personally vouch for)!

I dumped Norton Ghost a while ago and moved to Acronis True Image. (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/) I've had nothing but scccess with it. It's the best disk imaging utility I've ever used, and it's based on Linux, too :cheesygri I don't think I've ever had it crash on me, or given me a corrupt image.

they like itIt is a good freeware utility but only works with Windows 95/98/ME. You are probably thinking of XXClone (http://www.xxclone.com/index.htm) which works with Windows NT/2K/XP. These are both excellent products but they are really designed for copying the contents of a partition to another drive, partition, etc.
For creating disk images I am currently using PQ Drive Image 2002 (now Norton Ghost) but I will probably switch to Acronis True Image next time I upgrade.
For a PC Mag review see: Acronis True Image 8.0 (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1746187,00.asp)

You've gotta spend a little to get something worth while LOL... but I recommend Norton Ghost. I've been using it for over three years now and it's been the most reliable imaging software I've used.

So I'm sure, are you referring to this (http://www.pcsupport.dk/software/MaxBlast.html)?

How can a piece of software be based on an OS? Especially if it is running in Windows? Maybe it was developed on Linux?
Anyways, I normally use Ghost Enterprise, but I have had problems with it when you try to image service partitions from IBM and Dell. Anyone successfully do it with Ghost?
