I currently have a 3G iPod and I'm happy with what it is, but have different needs now. I'm looking for a new player with at least 256mb memory, FM tuner, recording function, with armband mostly for running.
I like the look of this player, but don't really know enough about it to know what it can do:

I've had Nike players before, and liked it. But can I find this, or something like this in Canada for a decent price? Keeping in mind the 512MB shuffle is only $129.

do you think it is safe to run with music on while on city streets? doesn't that reduce your awareness of possible dangers. a lady was hit by a car nearby a few weeks ago jogging and she had a player while running.

how about those Iriver products.
they cost a bit more than the ipod shuffle though and you gotta carry around a cable to plug into a computer.

Whether or not you're listening to music, you should look before crossing the street, driveways, etc.

ipod shuffle 512MB for $129cdn?
somewhere in the hot deals section there was a thread on this.
price was AFTER using a coupon code I believe.
there is also a thread on an iriver mp3 player in the hot deals section involving a price match oppturnity.
dunno if either deals are still active.

Just got a Creative MuVo TX FM 128mb player for my b-day.
Comes in 128,256 ,512, 1gb sizes
Its fantastic, has mic, FM tuner, great quality. Comes with a great quality armband. No chance it will fall out of it. Its a usb stick style, so no cables needed. Its nice and light too. Plus, you can record FM radio onto it if you hear a song you like.

It's like turning your radio up really loud when driving. You can't hear sirens or emergency vechicles, but if you don't turn it up so loud, it's okay.

There's the SanDisk 256 ones that go for $99 at FS. Includes an armband but only does voice recording - just FM playback. Aside from that it does everything you've requested and supports DRM files which I don't think that one from <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=78 target=_blank>ebay</a> does.
