I just got my Enrich card, thanks to the RFD CC article. I was reading about the price protection info at http://www.citibank.com/canada/cards/english/about_04.htm. It says You must also attach the original detailed and highlighted advertisement/flyer to prove the lower advertised price took effect in Canada My question is what if there is no flyer? Can you tell Citi to just call the store to confirm the lowered price? For people who used price protection, please share your experience.

For pricematching, they will accept pictures, printouts from websites, etc., but keep in mind they will call to verify (and computer hardware and software never qualify for pricematching).

Get the Platinum version of the Enrich card if you can.

There are some differences on the redflagdeals chart:

1. You can earn back up to $500 through the cashback feature on the Platinum version; the regular Enrich is only $250
2. The interest rate is 18.9% for the Platinum version according to the Citi rep
I just spoke with 5 seconds ago--and not 19.9%

Again, the regular Enrich does not offer common carrier accident insurance, extended warranty protection, nor car rental insurance.

Citi Platinum Enrich Mastercard
*need to make $35,000 a year to get it or have a $5000 credit card limit already through Citibank*

Features:

- no annual fee

- ZERO LIABILITY: "should your card fall into the wrong hands, you won't be held responsible for unauthorized purchases made in store, over the phone, or on the web. Feel safer now? That's the idea."

- extra security: free photocard (your photo and signature are digitally imprinted on the front of the card; this is a free service)

- free supplementary card(s)

- 1% cash back from the first dollar you spend (in other words--there's no minimum you have to spend first) up to a max of $500 cash back (or $50,000 spent on your card per year). Once a year, you'll get a cheque to cash . . .

- price protection for 60 days (if you find the exact same item advertised for cheaper elsewhere, you'll get the difference back) up to $100 difference per item (and up to a max of $500 per year). Computer hardware and software, food, cars, and pets are excluded from price protection (and you can only submit up to 3 duplicate items at once, I think; for example, if you purchase 5 duplicate shirts, you can only claim 3 for price protection on the same insurance form). You have to submit an insurance claim form each time

- (notice it's $500,000) travel accident and baggage delay insurance: "You receive up to $500,000 Common Carrier Travel Accident Insurance coverage whenever you travel by plane, train, bus, or boat--at no extra cost--when you purchase your tickets in full on Citi Enrich Platinum Mastercard. You're covered for up to a maximum of $500,000 for losses resulting from injuries while traveling." If your baggage is delayed for more than 24hrs Chubb Insurance Company of Canada will reimburse the cardholder up to $300 ($100 per day your baggage is delayed for up to 3 days).

- Car Rental Collision/Loss damage waiver : "When you charge the full cost of the car rental to your Citi Bank Enrich Platinum Mastercard, you'll be insured up to the actual cash value of the car if it is damaged or stolen."
This usually saves anywhere from $10-$20 on car rentals, since you don't
have to pay extra for insurance.

- Insurance from loss, damage, or theft on items purchased for up to 90 days

- Extended Warranty (doubles manufacturer's warranty for up to a full year)

How Do I get this card? (mildly annoying process)

1. First you apply for this junky regular Citi Enrich Mastercard:
https://www.citibank.com/canada/cards/english/apply_now/apply.cgi?access_code=NNN

You cannot directly apply for the Platinum version of the Citi Enrich card online (which sucks).

2. Then you wait to get approved and for the regular one to get sent out to you. (My card got sent out from Markham, Ontario).

3. Once you are approved, you have to call them and say, "I want the Platinum Enrich Mastercard--not the regular Enrich."

4. They say "sure", and they send you out the Citi Platinum Enrich Mastercard.

OR

If you already have a credit card through Citibank, just call Citi and ask to upgrade to the Citi Platinum Enrich Mastercard (you're supposed to have a $5000 credit limit first though, in order to request the Platnium Enrich card, but it never hurts to ask).

Well, I am a university student. Even with co-op, I don't think I can get $5000 limit, but I'd love to get the Pt Card, mainly because of extended warranty. Is there any other way to get it? What if I opened up a Citi bank act. and keep $5000 in there.

Yes. I've dealt with similar morons on the phone there. Or maybe they try to hide the fact it exists (I mean, it's not on the website).

There is a Platinum version of the Enrich card. I'm staring at it right now.
My girlfriend also has one. My parents have the Platinum Enrich card too now.
And last time I checked, Ontario is in Canada.

Yes, electronics are covered. Vehicles are not covered. From North America, call: 1-800-667-4273
if you have questions concerning warranty coverage.

Also visit http://www.citibank.com/canada/cards/english/about_06.htm

No. What does no annual fee mean to you?

If you have that many questions, call them:

I'd had fees like "overdraft protechtion

I always decline that crap on any card as soon as I receive it. I have no fees at all. That's the whole point of having a no-fee card. And why would I pay for insurance if the card is lost or stolen? They have a no-liability rule. So why would I pay extra for insurance for something the card does for free?

This is a card for people who don't carry balances from one billing period to the next. If you do carry a balance, look elsewhere . . .

Yeah, I've talked to at least two morons on the phone at Citi. Well, either they were morons or they were purposely hiding the existence of the card at the time . . .

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with these guys. I got it and it's a great card.
I don't know why they don't advertise it on their site.

Sweet I upgraded my crappy regular Enrich card to the Platinum Enrich card.

I did have to have a $5000 limit, so after I got the reg Enrich card I had to wait 6 months before they upped my limit all the way to $5000 and then it was just another short phone call to get the Platinum Enrich Card.

I applied for the Citi Drivers Edge Mastercard & I just got a letter from them asking me to send them a photocopy of gov issued card with my adress & picture on it. Is this normal? I've never had to do it for any other cards so I am wondering...

Yeah, sometimes they will ask you just to verify your address, that's all.

This can also happen if your card is on fraud hold/block.
