Suspect Sought in Pickpocket Thefts,

A man has been operating a pickpocket scam in the downtown Toronto area for a year and a
half. He has been involved in at least 20 pickpocket thefts. There is reason to believe he may
be involved in another 30 cases.
On Tuesday, January 11, 2005, the suspect was directly behind his victim in the food court of
100 King Street. He managed to reach into the victim’s pocket behind him and remove his
wallet. He stole the victim’s American Express card and Toronto Dominion Bank employee
access card, then placed the wallet back in the victim’s pocket, and left the area.
He may be in company of a second male suspect.
He is described as: possibly Middle Eastern or Mediterranean, 5’10", 220 lbs, short dark
receding hair, wearing a black sweater and black jeans, and dark dress shoes.
Anyone with information regarding these thefts or the identity of the suspect is asked to
