I believe CRC errors are usually media related...
check if the disc is dirty, or scratched...

Try increasing your virtual memory.
# Windows® XP users:

* From the Windows task bar, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
* Open the System folder and click on the Advanced tab.
* In the Performance area, click Settings.
* Click on the Advanced tab, and in the Virtual Memory area, click Change.
* In the Drive list, click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change (for example, C drive).
* Select Custom and type a new paging file size in megabytes in the Initial size (MB) and/or Maximum size (MB) box; then click Set.
* Click OK

Or
Use Dvd Decryptor to rip the DVD to your HDD first with DVD Decrypter in file mode.
Then use DVDShrink on those VOB Files.

CPU speed is mainly related to the clock only.

Having the need to increase VM is an indication that you are short of physical memory. Short of physical memory makes your process to run slower.

DVDShrink cannot decrypt some discs due to copy protection (don't know the details of how it works.) You will have to use DVD Decrypter to decrypt an ISO, then DVDShrink to shrink it down to 4.7 GB, and burn it. Makes backups difficult.
