Has anyone ever missed a delivery from staples? What do you do? Apparently a guy came but I never heard him.. which is odd.

Another question, which I didn't want to create a new thread for, are you supposed to tip the delivery guy? If so, how much?

I've had Staples and Purolator missed their delivery. And both times, there was someone home. Not impressed! From that point on, I had them delivered to my weork place. It hasn't failed me since (so far. *knock on wood*).

I don't tip the parcel delivery people. Just a nice thank you.

Thanks for your input. I was pretty sure I didn't hear anything, yet the staples CSR told me someone came by on thursday at 1:40pm... I live in an apartment, so they have to use the intercom to get in? I think I would've knew if they actually came.

Last time I ordered from staples, no problems... so I was thinking maybe, was I supposed to tip him? And now this is revenge?

I'm convinced that every now and then there are some lazy delivery persons out there just never bothered ringing the bell. It happened to my friends, happened to me before. But sadly, there's nothing you can do about it cuz no one can ever prove it. That is unless you somehow go hardcore and tape down the process

That happened with Purolator for me as well, but they got it here the next day

I told the CSR I likely would've heard a call, she replied that they don't always call, but then I told her I live in an apartment. It's not likely they wouldn't have had to call, twice! She said she'd look into it and get back to me..

Somehow I think you're right, though.. they never buzzed me at all.

Same thing happened to me the past few months! I live in a condo also. Submit a complaint to Purolator at 1 888 744-7123. They will give you a confirmation number and it will go to the local depot manager. I am told they may speak to the driver about it. Apparantly I'm still awaiting an explanation from them. Guess even the manager is too lazy to do anything about it.

I'm told from the gatehouse downstairs that they're often lazy and just leave the parcels there without coming up. I also notice it's usually with the heavier items that they don't bother delivering. I'll have to make a note of that and follow up with my complaint next week.

This is Staples delivery, for me, actually. The Purolator guy in my area is amazing, (at least, after reading all these complaints, I realize that) he never leaves the packages about and he always comes up. So I gave him a tip which I think he deserves.

Somehow (staples)they got a zero added to my apartment number, and werent able to delivery. Even after informing them of the problem the next shipment samething happened they informed the delivery guy but didnt fix it in the database.

Had staples miss about 4 times because of that 30 instead of 3. Its only a 10 apartment building too.

UPS new guy or something was hope all day waiting didnt show up, called said they'll check in when guy arrived was with someone else I think a trainee.

Populator somehow got the wrong postal code but once I called they fixed it quickly and was impressed to see it the next day.

I like the regular mail since I just go to the post office to pick up items, although this new mail man seems to be leaving stuff infront of my door. Lucky nothing has gotten missing yet.

Well I called Staples and they're supposed to get back to me. I really doubt it's an error in their database, because just 2 weeks ago, I got a shipment from staples, perfectly fine. That's the really odd part! That's why I was wondering if I was supposed to tip and didn't.

So Staples didn't cancel your order after the 2nd time, and was willing to deliver 4 times? That gives me some hope I might actually get it.
