I have both but each has its upsides:
GT4 = proven franchise, TONS more cars/stuff, best of all, true force feedback wheel support
Forza=looks good, online support
I have both consoles so I'll play 'em both :D

Shucks.. how come Forza got the Porsches and the Ferraris while GT4 only got the .. RUF's and the.. ??'s?

I played the Xbox demo of Forza a couple of months ago and I have to say I wasn't that impressed with the cars handling, track detail, and overall graphics.

The demo track was Laguna Seca so it could be compared to GT3's version (which I preferred).

I'm guessing that they are still working hard on Forza as it was put back a while ago. I'll still be getting Forza (coz of online play and vehicle damage) and GT4.

Does Forza support steering wheels with full 900 degrees turn?

I also played the Forza demo a few months back and was also not that blown away. It didn't seem bad, but from what I saw I wasn't thinking "I have to buy this game".

I'll prbably pick up Forza but I still have a ton of stuff to complete in PGR2 which I actually like a lot so I'm in no real rush.

My vote would be GT4. Mainly because I've played all the older GT games so GT4 would be a must have.

i have yet to play Forza, but i can say GT4 sucks donkey ballz.. wtf have they been doing for the past 4 years? certainly not on gameplay or handling or the physics engine. seems the only thing they did was update the car models and put in a couple tracks more. GT4 while a very good driving game is nothing more than a superficial update to GT3.

I happen to like the game. The AI sucks ballz and the no online option really took the wind out of its sails but graphically (and the GT4 force wheel is AMAZING), NOTHING comes close. When I saw it on HDTV, I was blown away. I have tried the Forza demo and didn't think much of it. GT4 is still heads and shoulders above in single player mode.

even though gt4 has like 600 cars or something like that, only about 200 of them are actually cool cars that you will keep driving. a lot of them are wierd imports or model ts, or steam wagons and crap like that

GT4 is superior than GT3, not by far. The game physics have changed and the details are more refined. I still think that GT4 is the best racing sim out there no doubts about that..so u can take ur FORZA and stick it up ur A$$.

Do you own the GT4 force wheel? If so, how long is the cable (USB right?)? My TV is pretty far from the couch so I currently use extension cables or cordless controllers.

I see images on BT. Since I wanna play online, I'm buying the game :).
That's one thing Sony screwed up on GT4 (that and the lack of a credible AI).

No I didn't. I just borrowed a friend's for the night (a bit too steep for my tastes). It's really just the PC MOMO wheel but it adds a LOT to the driving experience in HDTV for GT4. I used my old Force Wheel and though that is supported, it's nowhere near as good.

The USB cable is short. I'm guessing its around 5ft or so. It's kinda dangerous to leave the wheel out. People can trip on it cause its so short.

I played it the other night as well, and all I can say is that it is a real simulator, I had a hard time staying on the track, the braking is so realistic. I'm so use to PGR2 and it's arcade=stype racing for too long.

Damage modelling and AI has me sold over GT4... I never understood why GT never incorporated any of the above I mentioned... awesome scores btw... wonder of FS has it yet.

this game is slow in the beginning because all the cars are low powered, once you get up to level 10 or 15, the cars get a lot faster and its a lot more intense. i've had this since saturday, and i have to say that it is the best driving sim i have ever played, including gt4. most sims i play are just a tad too hard, but this one is right on the money, plus the graphics and options are awesome.

the only thing i don't really like is the music in the game, although i can use custom soundtracks if i want, so its not that big of a deal

Damage modelling and AI has me sold over GT4... I never understood why GT never incorporated any of the above I mentioned... awesome scores btw... wonder of FS has it yet.

up until last year, a lot of the car manufacturers would not allow for damage modelling to be represented in car simulation games for fear of tarnishing their vehicle images...this was why you never saw damage modelling in GT1 - GT4. However some time last year, manufacturers have softened their stance but it was too late in development of GT4 to include the damage system. GT5 is going to have a full blown damage system according to interviews ive read. however for the current generation, the king is dead and its replacement apparently is Forza. Kudo's to M$ who made a wise choice in delaying the title in order to make it a true GT4 killer.

Just played Forza.

Amazing. I loved the gameplay, you get a sense of speed, it's challenging but fun. Amazing tracks. Game looks awesome, very nice looking cars and tracks.
The damage model is cool, you can have cosmetic, where your car only dents/scratches/falls or simulation, where you get cosmetic plus driving, ie. car leans toward one side, car goes slow. Can't wait to start career mode, still gotta beat nfsug2, halo 2 and another pile of games.

I just got Forza last night, I find it to be more fun to play than GT4 cuz i guess its a bit more forgiving. I don't know why people are saying that Forza Graphics are better than GT4 though, I was and still in awe w/ GT4 Graphics.

Overall, i wouuld give the edge to GT4 but both are fanstastic fanstatic games.
And i can't wait for Enthusia from Konami. Good time to be a racing fan.

Both games are good, graphics GT4 wins, but overall Forza is a better expience with an online career mode, where you can buy/sell cars with other players, and join car clubs etc. Not to mention the AI is leaps ahead of the AI in GT4.

it's great now that theres competition, and polyphony will try even harder to make GT5 top Forza. That means us gamers are going to be the winners.

And numb555 , love your avatar... COOOOOOOBRRAAAA LALALALALALALA!!!

You can pimp out a bit more with Forza.
In terms of graphics, if you don't run GT4 in 1080i, Forza looks way better (except in replays, in replays GT4 > ALL). I'm in awe with how long the draw distance is in Forza and how clear everything is when you're driving. With GT4 on an s-video signal, it's a pixelled mess in the horizon.
Forza is a far far better driving experience (shame no force feedback wheel support, we should be able to plug our MOMOs in this thing). AI isn't as incredibly stupid as GT4, plus online play and custom soundtracks. The AI cars actually drive for the most part like real players. They try to avoid you, tailgate and pass you when it's clear.

The GT4 soundtrack (and Forza's) suck poo. Great job by Microsoft (with a lower budget to boot). This is way beyond Sega GT. This should push Polyphony to go all out in GT5.

I finally had a chance to pick FORZA up yesterday and played for roughly 1 hr last night. I usually enjoy arcade racing more (Rallisport 2, PGR2, Burnout 3) but this game just rocks! Only played arcade mode for a few tracks but the graphics, sound, ai, and control is amazing. Well worth the $60 imho. I still have to give GT4 a decent go though.

I picked up Forza yesterday (already had GT4 before)

I must say the overall driving experience with forza is better TWO-FOLD than GT4. Although the cars do no look at as good, the experience, and environmental graphics are much better. If they could get the car models and reflections on the cars to look like the GT4 models it would get a 10/10! After playing this I dont think I can go back to GT4 at all.

Also On Line play is amazing. No lag experienced, and very good competitors.
