I'm looking for one of those shake flashlights where it doesn't require any batteries.....I've been on several websites, foreverflashlight.com and nightstar.com to name a couple, and of course, they claim that their lights are the top of the market. But the prices for them after shipping and everything, is around $40-50 each!! And what I'm skepticle is that they only have a 1 yr warentee on them.....I mean, if they're as good as they claim, then why not a lifetime warentee????

Have anybody actually used one of these flashlights? Are they as good as they claim to be? Worth it for that price?

I saw a similar one on the Canadian Tire website, but it's sold out, and it only emits 5min of light with a 15-30 shake, compared to 20 min of light for the other brands....

Anybody know where else I can find one? Perferably instore and therefore none of those shipping hassels?

Thnx Thnx!! :D

My old boss had one in the truck one night last summer and we tried it out.
It sucked IMO, underpowered led, not good for emergencies ie signaling, expensive.
On top of that you have to use a "back and forth" motion to charge it up (3-10 min) which is way too embarasing but funny for the crew.

If you still want one (ask the store for the return policy btw) I saw them at dufferin mall (if you are in T.O.) at the "As seen on TV" store.

Also at radioshck

Yeah, I don't think they are very good. If you want it for emergency use only, you're better off investing a couple of batteries. Just buy a cheapo flashlight and keep a pack of batteries with it. It seems a lot to spend on a flashlight that won't be used that often (if you're using for emergencies only)...

If you're using it often, the best idea would probably buy some rechargables and a nice flashlight.

Why dont you get those falshlights that hook up to your 12v outlet in your car? I think there are some that can also take batteries.

You can get one from here (http://www.radioshack.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=RadioShack&category=Flashlights_Emergency&product=6118971) .

IMO it is cheaper to buy a flashlight from dollar store and replace the battery every 5 years.

i bought one with a spindle handle off Ebay...
it has 5 bright LED lights.
30 seconds of turning gives you 30 minutes of light however with only 1 of the lil LEDs on... with all 5 LEDs on it gives you 20 minutes of light.

It also charges your phone for 3 minutes of talk time with the A/c Adapter thing.. extremely cool....
