I have a DVD player that can only play Region 1 or ALL DVDs. Does this mean it can also play Region 0? (no, my player is not hackable :( ).

yes, a region 1 dvd player can play region 1 dvd AND region 0 N<a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=140 target=_blank>TSC</a> dvd.

i recently bought an uber cheap region free dvd player from bestbuy so i can watch dvds from other places.

It is region free right out of the box and it has built in PAL-NTSC converter. :cheesygri

Hmmm. I just read in the manual that my player can only play N<a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=140 target=_blank>TSC</a> discs, but the one I want to buy is PAL, even though it is Region 0. What gives with all these dumb standards? Pick one and go with it!

oh well,. you can buy that NOVA player. It's multiregion and can play PAL dvd too. It's only $39.99!
so far, iam happy with it; but i dont know how long it will last

Just go to Chinatown and buy one from there. They sell all region, no macrovision, read any disc....
