Yet another Paypal question. As experienced as I am with eBay/Paypal, I was wondering ... if anyone has made a purchase with credit card only and got a refund from the seller (through the 'Refund' option), do you get the refund as a credit back on your credit card? Or does it show up as Paypal funds in your account?

huh? Why sometimes one or the other? I would really prefer they credit our credit card, since not everybody has bank account linked to the account. And I doubt they will be so accommodating to let you choose which one.

The paypal mastercard works as a credit card in the store - so if you buy with it, and return the item, it goes back to your paypal acct. You can't use it to dip into your bank account - it only uses what's in your paypal account.
HOWEVER, if you're talking paying someone through paypal, and they refund the money, again it just goes back into your paypal account. I did have a friend who sent an item and the guy said it was "lost" (yeah right). Anyhow, because of the cost of the item, paypal gave the guy back his money, leaving my friend with a huge overdraft in his paypal account. They don't like you having a negative balance by the way. He had to transfer $ from his bank acct to his paypal acct or risk being deactivated by paypal.

teknobabble: can you explain what you meant by "overdraft"? So your friend refunding someone's payment, and the funds were removed from his account? I think that part is obvious though right? I guess he withdrew most of his balance before the refund?
I'm talking about the buyer here. How they receive the refund as.

Just from what I have read:
"Never give any bank account information to PayPal in your account. This way in case of fraud, no one can get into your bank account"

As a seller: Basically the buyer of his item off ebay said he never received it, so paypal refunded his money ($700). My friend had withdrawn that money so his paypal balance was about -$700.

As a buyer, when I returned something, it goes back in my paypal account.

Even if you pay the entire amount by credit card?
