Been subscribed to Rogers Cable TV Basic for the past decade and throughout this time, I have noticed major channel changes. For example, 2 years ago, we had "The Score" which use to be 62. Now it is gone. We also use to have "MuchMusic" channel 30, but that is also gone. What happened to them? I use to be able to play around with the remote controller and "magically" add channels but that has been taken away from me as well.

Also, Rogers website says that Basic should include SPORTSNET Ontario. I don't have that channel at all. WTF?

just go with basic satelite and get WAY more channels for the same price (minus the dish/reeiver purchase), basic cable is the worstoption out there. All channels under 29 are boring http://www.ehmac.ca/images/smilies/yawn.gif !

I agree 100%, basic Bell Express Vu is a way better deal than Basic Rogers. It is a few dollars more, but for $25, you get a digital signal and time shifiting.

Can't beat that. And if you want, you can rent the equipment for $5 per month. The dish is technically free, since the cost is $129 at Bell World for Reciver and Dish or just receiver.

MTX: To answer your question, yes you can take the equipment with you when you move.

BTW. I have both Basic Bell Express Vu for $25 and Basic Rogers for $22. I have Rogers because I use their highspeed internet.

You do know that some people simply CANNOT get Satellite, regardless how much they want to (ie. me)
Why? CONDO!!! Apartment!!!

Otherwise, I'd for sure go with Bell Bundle with (Sympatico, Satellite), since landline doesn't count in the bundle

I pay $27 a month for Rogers Basic. Just emailed them and they said I have to pay $69.99 a month to get Sportsnet and Raptors TV. The score and MuchMusic costs even more after that. WTF?

So with Bell its only $25/month for service and $5/month to rent equipment or buy the equipment for $129? Just trying to see how much costs will add up in the long run. Also, Im a loyal Bell Sympatico user for 4 YEARS - any discounts for me?

Just browsing through the bell.ca website right now, the prices look kinda confusing, price of the entry level dish is $49.99 after all the savings, then another $25 per month for digital TV.. and if you sign up for 24 month contract, its still just $49.99 but installation fee waived? i also looked through the channels, gotta pay $20 extra for TSN and Sportsnet? hmm
