saw this on the newsgroups today

Need cash to pay off Xmas bills?

Want to buy something not sold @ <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=24 target=_blank>Canadian Tire</a> Stores?

Well, I'm looking for your <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=24 target=_blank>Canadian Tire</a> money.
For those of you who don't use CT money for purchases, this appies to you.
I'll buy your CT money for $0.50 on the dollar.
It may sound like a rip-off, but, if you never use it, it's not really of
value anyway, right?

I'm trying to save up around $800.00 to fix my car, and hey, why not try to
save a bit at the same time!

So if you have a few bucks of it kicking around (i bet it's still in the bag
from the store..LOL) let me know.
I'll be happy to come and give you some real money for it.

Thanks

P.S. I am an honest person trying to save a few bucks, so please keep the
flaming down.
These newsgroups don't need it!

I don't see anything wrong with it. That guy really goes all out to save some buck. Pretty smart, but lots of work for 50% off.

I rarely goes to CT so I have a whole bunch of CT money too. :) I have, maybe, 5 bucks or so and it's a pretty big stack (hate all those 10c and 5c ones). I don't think I'll go through the trouble to sell the guy for $2.50 though.

I saw that posting on the ott.forsale (http://groups.google.ca/groups?q=Canadian+Tire+Money&hl=en&lr=&group=ott.forsale.*&selm=YOSdnV1gpt1m60XcRVn-pw%40rogers.com&rnum=2) too... Pretty old stuff. Are you catching up on your newsgroups now?

does this guy not value his time or gas money? personally i'd only ever offer to buy someones Cdn. Tire money at 50% off is if they had $40 minimum to sell.. and even then i'd have to think real hard about whether i wanted to get off my ass to bother for the $20 savings. all this isn't even counting the fact that someone with that much Cdn Tire money would likely be a frequent customer anyways.
