Hey all,

I found a deal which seems to be a hot deal that I want to share, but I wasn't successful in getting it PM'd (so I don't want to mislead people, hence not posting it until I clear it up). Could someone tell me what the situation with this is? I found something at OfficeDepot in the Boxing Week flyer that is selling for $100 less than Staples. Trying to PM it, I was told that because it's the BW flyer, they won't do 150% - only 100%. Is that normal, and is that a good excuse - or were they trying to wiggle out of it?

Any ideas appreciated.

Cheers,

-pN

The item cannot be in limited quantities, which is probably the case for the Boxing Week sale. Otherwise, Office Depot is definitely one of the companies that they price-match 150%. If it were any other week and the item was in the general flyer you would have been gold.

I got two different Staples to PM at 150% for the same item (yesterday and today). I would suggest you buy the item at OD then take the receipt to Staples and have them PM off that. For a $50 savings, the extra trouble should be worth it.

Otherwise, call OD and have them put the item aside with your name on it. Staples has to honour PMs if the competitor has the item in-stock... limited quantities or not.

As Staples would say, Please refer to the price matching policy:

If our competitor limits the quantity you can purchase, we can only match the price for the same quantity as the competitor offers. If the competitor says, “while supplies last, we will gladly honour the price after we check to make sure the competitor has the item in-stock and available to purchase through them

Any real rfder should know that from memory by now!
