Staples has the Epson R200 for $70 ($110-$40 MIR). Same as R300 but without the memory card direct printing. Got one yesterday, printed a DVD last night, looks great!

No Name ink carts for the Canon i560 are available for $4 ea ( I use the same ones in my Canon BJC-6000) and are refillable (the syringe and the bulk ink trick works fine!).

Personally I like Canon Printers the best cause of the "Think Tank System" where you can replace just the 1 cartridge for that colour as oppose to say with the other brand cartridges, if you run out of yellow, its just a waste for the rest of that ink cartridge

i wouldn't buy a lexmark if my life depended on it, except lexmark business laser printers, seem to be good, stick to canon or hp, for best quality consumer wise

Yeah, Canon is my favourite too, but I thought I'd post the deal cause you know how everybody has their favourite,

I think in the long run Canon will save you alot more money in printer cartridges replacement then the Lexmark will. I Have no experience/opinions on the HP brand.

Is epson any good? They also have the multi tank system, and staples sells the "Epson Stylus CX4600 Flatbed Colour All-in-One " for 175$ before 70$ in MIR. It also has card readers.

the $100 Konica laser is locked to it's own brand toner by it's "smart chip". :evil: and couldn't print 2 side... the starter toner is half full. It's toner costs 108 at TD! :cry:

This is my first laser printer, and at first I was very happy with it. Then the honeymoon ended. First of all, the toner cartridge is fitted with a "smart" chip, so you cannot refill it yourself. This is, in the opinion of many, an illegal practice, as it prevents you from using a third-party toner refill. Note that the 1250W (previous model) does not have this "feature," so you may be better off with that one.
Do not, ever, try to use the duplex printing feature (print on both sides) of the 1350W. If your document ends with an odd-numbered page, the resulting output is misnumbered! Also do not do anything on your computer concurrently with printing, as the driver has a very short attention span, and forgets which page it is printing.
Many one-sided pages emerge smudged on the reverse side.
Paper feeding is fair, but occasionally the printer stops with a "jam" message. You must open the cover and look for a sheet of paper jammed inside, but you will not find one.
Honestly, forget Minolta and look elsewhere. For real!

Warning !!! This is a GDI printer. Therefore you can not set this printer to work on a home network using dedicated TCP/IP print servers (i.e., D-Link DP-301P+, Linksys EtherFast Print Servers, etc.). As a GDI printer it does not have a builtin command processor. In other words it is a HOST based printer relying on your PC's processor as the brains to process print jobs. I made this mistake!!! Be forewarned !!!! Do not buy this product if you wish to use it on a home network!!!

I want one that can last, use less ink and print really nice photo quality. Don't care about the print speed at all!

I want one that can last, use less ink and print really nice photo quality. Don't care about the print speed at all!I have the i560, and print quality, and print speed, is very good. Its a nice looking, compact printer, with a printer tray that folds nicely into the printer when not in use. Separate ink cartridges for each colour, and the ability to use bulk ink should save money over the long run, although I have yet to use up the ink cartridges (I don't print very much at home). Photo print quality should be good, although I haven't tested it yet myself, and I don't think you'd see a huge improvement in photo quality for the i960D, if any, especially when printing wallet or 4x8 photos.

I don't see the point in paying an extra $75 for a printer, when you can get solid performance for $25.

My gf needs a new printer, and I am thinking about picking up a second i560 for her from CC.

EDIT: Just checked, the i960 (but not i960D, can't find this model) appears to be OOS online at FS. Another reason to get the i560 from CC.

EDIT: Here's Canon information on each: i560 (http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=117&modelid=9282), and i960 (http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=117&modelid=9388). i560 has identical resolution to i960, at 4800 x 1200 dpi. They appear to use the same magenta/cyan/yellow ink system, although the i960 has 6 tanks versus the 4 on the i560. The i960 allows a second tank of cyan and magenta cartridges, and uses a different black ink cartridge. Size-wise, the i560 is the clear winner here, at 16.5" W x 6.8" H x 10.8" D to the i960's 16.5" W x 12.2" D x 7.3" H, so same width, but i560 is shorter and shallower, and has the nice tray fold-up feature. But the i960 beats the i560 in its nozzles configuration, with 3,072 nozzles on the i960 versus 1,600 nozzles on the i560. It's worth noting that both of these printers appear to be released late in 2003, so some 2004 models at a similar price point may exceed their performance.

wouldn't the Samsung 1520 a better deal?

For the Konica printer, if you use 3rd party toner, it drops from 22 ppm to around 6 ppm.

factor in the toner cost and this "speed defect" I believe that the 1520 is a better deal.
