Hi
THis morning I just sold a nintendo DS system on ebay. The buyer(thunderforce1000) used the "buy it now" option to end the auction. The purchase price was $275 US. I was happy at that time, but right now I am very suspicious of this for a few reasons.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8156505865&ssPageName=STRK:MESO:IT
1) The buyer has not sent any emails or responded to mine. On a normal sale i wouldnt worry, but since shipping before christmas was a priority I expected a quick response.
2) The guy used the "Buy it now option" 2 hrs before my auction was to end.
3) The guy has 98.5% positive feedback, but with 3 negatives in the last month. And all his feedback is private
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=thunderforce1000
4) The info ebay gave me of the buyer is
"b dudul - 01234 loinlon, France"
- I googled "loinlon" and it does not exist
- And why would someone in France! want a Nintendo DS when it is located in toronto, and shipping before christmass would be impossible to some where in france.
I definitley want to sell this item before chrismas. I don't know why anyone would place a fake bid and mess any chance of me selling the item. If I am sure this guy won't pay, I want to try relisting it.
I need your advise ....please
Thank you

There is a time difference between France and Toronto. Give him a day to respond.
Then re-list it and report him as a non paying bidder. After you have sent him FAIR Warning.

if you are selling any high end goods, you should always state to which countries you are willing to ship. Say US or Canada. If u are afraid to shipp worldwide that is. I hate it when ppl's feedback are left private, there shuldn't be that option. The safe thing to do is not to sell it. his credit card might even chargeback.. and there's nothing u can do.
i require my buyers to have either confirmed on verified paypal accounts. adds confidence on both parts.

how are you being scammed? the auction just ended as you have metioned, there's a grace period for buyer to respond. so give it few days.
even if he didn't respond nor pay for the item, you still not being scammed. you just didn't make a sale, you can then file non-paying bidder and get your listing fee and final value fee back. so either way, you're not being scammed.
the only way you're going to get scammed is when you ship the item out and then you run into problem with the payment. that's the only way you're going to get scammed.
so just relax, wait a few days and we'll see what happens. ;)

checking his bid history, he's won at least 7 Nintendo DS's in the past month... try contacting the other sellers and mentioning your concerns.

Maybe they aren't available in France and he buys them on Ebay and sells them for a profit locally or something? I would give it a day or so anyways, before I did anything.

275$ US?? I'd ask for a phone number that is associated to the address given in a whitepages and call him to confirm. And did he really pay 275$ US?? Don't these cost 179$ Cdn new? I say its a scam although I don't respect you much more for selling items at a profit like this.

Hi
4) The info ebay gave me of the buyer is
"b dudul - 01234 loinlon, France"
Does 01234 sound like a real address?
Where in the world do they use 0 as the first number?
I doubt the buyer will pay for the item. Time to re-list and move on.

in the end your better off to go buy it in person at eb games
the money, the cheapness, the price, plus shipping price, customes charges.. your better off buying it locally cuz it probally be still come out the same price.

I guess you should also disrespect all the retailers out there that are trying sell items to "profit like this". Shame on them.

Dudul would be a very funny name for a french guy. It sounds like some english speaking dude trying to make up a name that sounds french.
01234 sure is an interesting address.
Loinlon doesn't exist.
Everything is fake. Might be a jerk, or might be someone selling the same item under another username and trying to kill the competition.

I used to live in France - and while 012345 is a possible post-code, it does not in fact exist. (01000 is the Ain département (region)).

Scammer or no scammer - I would not do business with someone that knowingly provides false information. Mark him as a bad bidder and re-list.
If the guy does want the item, slap him around for me for giving fake info and tell him if he really wants it you can try to find another and if successful you'll place another Buy-It-Now and you will only ship once payment has been cleared on your end.
