ok so i'm working and my schedule was from 11:30-2:30 then i get half hr break and get back to work at another location within 2 mins walk from 3-8pm. But i just got a call asking me to work down at union from 11-2pm and then my second shift would be from 3-8pm but up at bloor. So should I ask to be compensated because now i have to spend more time to travel from one location to the other and pay ttc once more to get to that new location + now my unpaid break is 1 hr and more time is used spent traveling?

Hmm...I think you're outta luck. They can easily replace you with someone that's willing to do it.

In theory, the employer should cover the transportation/re-location cost and the time spent during this commute should also count as paid work time.

It doesn't hurt to ask for these but I know it is hard.

I hate cheap employers like this. What store is this so that we can pay a visit if they are not willing to co-operate during this 'festive' season and try to take advantage of people's need to be employed.

I don't have a wife so its not a boy or a girl lol. The place i work for is one of those christmas gift wrapping places. I'm gonnna go ask today to see if i'll be compensated since working for minimum wage and having to travel is not exactly the best combination. So far the last time they asked me to relocate they did provide me with a token so i will see what they will do this time.

just like how they can replace you..you also have millions of choices at minimum wage! they know that and it doesnt hurt to remind them of that..NOT EVERYONE WILL DO THAT AT MINIMUM WAGE..
