since this is a boxing day deal, i thought i would put it here. maybe people can hit it up if they have no time to cook after they shop. anyway, i went to kfc today and picked up a flyer: valid from dec 26 to jan 9. only at participating locations. while quantities last.
10 pieces of chichen for 8.88 plus tax (drumsticks and thighs) premium charge for white meat.
make it a meal, 10 pieces of chicken, large fries, medium gravy, 2 litre of pepsi and family dessert for 18.88 plus tax (drumsticks and thighs) premium charge for white meat.
you can check it out on www.kfc.ca

Good deal for the 10 pc chicken. But is the extra stuff they give worth $10? Like, if I were to go into loblaws and pick up fries, pop, gravy and dessert, it doesnt feel like it would cost $10 for that. Maybe its just me.

You are correct in that most of KFC's add-ons are not a good deal. My KFC store was also giving out a booklet of coupons good until January.
On Tuesday, December 28 or January 4, one may be better off buying 5 toonie-twos. You pay $11.10 for 10 pieces, but also get over $6 worth of fries.

No need for hi-res pictures, since it was taken from the KFC.ca website... The colour-scheme of the front page on the sites looks weird... Gotta admit, 10 pieces for $8.88 is a pretty good deal.

How much is the extra charge for the white meat?
Good deal, I try to avoid KFC, but sometimes I have a real craving for it......buy it and pig out on it, and then I remember why I shouldn't eat there.

True, but the fries actually aren't worth $6. :cheesygri  Trade 'em in for something else... like gravy.

Is that even a deal worth of Boxing Day deal -- $1/piece of chicken? Don't you get two pieces for $2 on Tuesdays with a bit of fries? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Just like the rest of the Boxing Day so-called "deals", KFC's $1 offers are not that great. Toonie-twos are better than the $1 for 1 chicken piece only. I believe salad sells for 99¢. Only the $1.29 fries discounted by 29¢ may be an OK deal if you're not restricted to a healthy diet.

Can I refill drinks with Loonie Mania order? Chruch Chicken and KFC in the US allow.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Not that great of a deal for their Boxing Day deals...

A someone already asked, how much is the premium for white meat? They make this chicken thing a science now. I miss the old KFC with the huge fat fries.

Ahhhh.... it's just legalese. Just means that they reserve the right to manipulate the offer if and when it suits them.
If KFC ends up selling a ton of chicken to the point where it the low or lack of profit coupled with their inherent supply chain - then they can scale back their offer. You won't be able to pay for "boxing week" chicken but you can certainly pay regular price for them!
It's all about profit-tolerance.

Heheh! All fast food makes a killing, well the major fast food places, an average soda uses only a few cents worth of the syrup, etc! Anyways, I am not against fast food, but like most of lifes pleasures, take it in moderation.
Read Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal by Eric Schlosser, see the movie Supersize Me, and go see http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/

Not sure if this was mentioned but the tv ads on the East Coast mention in smaller print "thighs & drumsticks only".

Which GTA locations have you been able to buy the $8.88 10-piece special? The Oakville & Burlington KFC don't seem to be participating in the advertised specials so phone your location 1st before being victimized by yet another bait and-switch.

I got the special in Mississauga.... the worst meal I ever had. It was pure grease.

I got 2 of these $8.88 deals recently (20 pieces). The pieces were smaller than usual and the flavour didn't penetrate into the meat like usual. I love KFC, but was a little disappointed this time. If you want some white meat, it costs about 45 cents more for EACH white meat piece.
