OK, so far from the 3-4 that I've read, the WD 200GB for $115 after taxes and minus the $40-TD-I-hope-I-get-my-rebate deal looks to be the best, even though it isn't a boxing day item.

The FS/BB deals have just too high post tax pre rebate prices to consider so far.

Anyone see any better deals on a HDD 120-160GB or more?

i think the tiger_direct is pretty good deal. the fs/bb deal probably includes MIR also.

I took a sneak peak on the boxing day flyer that was deleted today and it says that there's a 250GB WD on sale for $129 after MIR unless my eyes were playing tricks on me lol.

If you read my OP, you'll see I stated it was 115 after taxes and AR. So I don't know why you're correcting me.

Also, 8MB isn't really crucial if its just a storage drive. As for Maxtor, I haven't had a lot of problems with them, but recently been hearing about a lot more problems with their 200GB and up drives.

if you're gonna get the TD HDD, I suggest getting it soon. The MIR ends DEC 31!

Um, of course there would be. Why wouldn't there be?

Just wait a couple of days and you will find out more details.

I remember some year where they didn't have tax? Or, sometimes they have deals where they don't have tax so that's why I'm asking.

td website is now listing the drive for $125 then minus $40

so with taxes its about $102.

I think that neither fs/bb can beat this deal..........

Agree. TD WD 200MB $84.97 after $40 MIR is far better than WD 160GB $89.99 after $75 MIR that you get on Boxing Day at those chain stores.

But doesn't shipping bring it close to the price of the 250 gb at FS at $129 AR? Although you'll probably pay a lot more in tax.

Tax is a killer...

269.99
310.50 after taxes
170.50 AR

So it breaks down to 0.682 per gig

TD is 115.43 AR = 0.577 per gig.

Only question is if you'll get the drive in time for the rebate now. Only reason I passed.
