So, what's the best deal you've ever taken advantage of on Boxing Day?
I usually buy some clothes, otherwise I try to avoid the impulse buys.
This year I'm looking for a notebook.

I got that from FS too! I signed up for one year instead and got the $35 and the SAF fees waived for five months instead. Much better deal. :cheesygri
Hmm, the best deal... must be the Pine CDRW that went out of stock. FS replaced it with a Pine external CDRW at the same price, $5!!! I think some people returned it and got $100 back without doing anything!

Was that the one last year at Best Buy for $80? That was awesome, made lining up at 5 well worth it. My best boxing find so far.
Last year was the first time I went really early to Best Buy. It was funny cause we totally didn't expect that many people to line up. We got there and the line was halfway around the building and we were so shocked. The best part was how they had someone from the staff at the front with a loudspeaker and I remember hearing "this man's been here since Christmas Day".

And you should be banned for not wearing a Santa Hat this year, mrken. :cheesygri On second thought - forget it - I remember LAST year - it took you FOREVER to rid your avatar of that hat.

I too got in on that deal for the Nokia; $30 for a 3595, Roots hat, Roots music backpack, AND when my phone conked out I got another one replaced over the counter, at FS, 11 mos. later!! :) I didn't bother signing up for the free air time as I was already a pay-go customer, but I just transferred my current account [my air time accumulated was able to be transferred as well] to my new phone.

People like you!
Why can't the stupid damn stores limit it to 1 per PERSON. So if they want 10 they have to bring 10 people at least (like No Frill scammers do). Geez.

I remember a few years back; before Best Buy bought Future Shop. The latter would offer free products (or nearly free) after MIR items. Although they were all doorcrashers.
Off the top of my head: 128 meg memory, TV tuner card, Rogers Pay as you go phone, web-cam, CD's.
Although not an exceptional deal: Future Shop always offers a Harmon/Kardon amp for $300~ every boxing day. Picked up a few of these.

seriously i think they should put limits on items.. coz ppl who end up lining up in the subzero temps and dont get them... bah... just plain annoyance...

I got the Fido Siemens A56 phone plus 3 months Fido-to-Fido airtimes ($25/month) including system access fees ($6.95/month) and 911 fees ($0.25/month) all for $49.99 from FS. Then asked a family member to refer me when I activated the phone at home. I got $20 referral credit and my family member got another $20 credit. Basically all for $9.99.
A56 phone (value $125) + 3 months free airtimes + system access fees + 911 fees (total value $100) = $9.99 with NO contract.
You can sell the phone at eBay after 3 months.

hmm ... from what I recall, best Boxing Day deals for me would be those free PC games after rebate at CompuSmart (I know they used to have them at FutureShop too but it was during the summers), and last year I bought those D-Link routers for $10 after rebate at Staples & FutureShop (one for me, and others were for friends). And yes, the rebates all came.

Well, I got 3 (think that was the limit), then noone else wanted any (and they had like 50), so I asked for 3 more, came back later, and got 4 more....
Noone else wanted them....I was happy!

Is Carnage doing the Santa hat this year again? I haven't had time to go to the OT lately. I will probably take the hat off after I get 10000 posts, but then that may be another year, because it looks like a busy year ahead for me. :cheesygri And that's assuming that I don't get wintech'd.
So mods don't get wintech'd? :(
I didn't get the Roots package with the phone. :(

This is my first Boxing Day, so whatever deal(s) I get this year will be the best I've gotten :)
I've gotten countless great Black Friday (day after US Thanksgiving) deals...far too many to post...over the years. I'm hoping Boxing Day provides similar savings! :)

I went to futreshop prolly 3 years ago and they had 100CD's on special for $40 (instead of $100) anyways .. the manager witnessed an employee being a complete ******* to me and then saw my face. Stopped me on the way out and apologized and asked me what I was trying to buy and gave me 2 100 packs for $10 each.
and he even went and got them.
So that was awesome.

Last year I got a web cam from Futureshop. The cost was something like $19.99 and the mail in rebate was $20.00. Here in Nova Scotia everything is closed on Boxing day so I was able to find out from everyone where the best deals were. Everything is also closed on Sundays here too so I might not get into the some stores until Tuesday.

Funny how most of these posts are of people freezing there butt's off on boxing day. Has anyone heard of online shopping? I got my Widescreen Toshiba 47" near cost for $1599, a $599 19" LCD (which malfunctioned, luckily extended warranty came in handy. Got upgraded to a awesome BENQ that was $250 more) & the 160gig WD drive. These were and probably still are great deals.

I remember that too! I think it was only $10 online or something, and they had a $20 USD MIR! I think I made around $20 to take the webcams away, since the MIR allowed two rebates.

Never got them, but 4 of 5 years back FS had website troubles.
19in TV's for $1, right at Christmas morning. Ordered 4 and came to $30 all in (you had to pay for shipping back then)
It got cancelled 4 or 5 days later, and I bit-hed and complained to try and get even just one...all they offered was 10% off the next web purchase

2 boxing days ago, picked up a Microsoft Force Feedback Sidewinder steering wheel + pedals for $25. There was a $50 MIR which came back 6 weeks later so essentially, Microsoft paid me $25 for their wheel. Only regret was I wasn't sure if the wheel would work (box was opened/damaged) and didn't pick up the other remaining wheel sitting on the clearance table.
