Ok, I know it is early, but I saw this IN THE OFFICE at Toys R us...

PS2,XBOX,GAMECUBE Select titles. $9.91

I was not able to see any specific titles as it was lying on the managers desk.

I asked to have a closer look at it, and it was turned over, as if it was a national secret :!

There was other stuuf on it too, but I can not remember anything else..

Sunday December 26th only..

While quantities last...

Let the party start....

actually that paper should be getting into everyones bag that shops at toys r us
or on a counter, at least it is at my store, its strange since normally we never have a boxing day sale, i usually get to laugh at people that ask

but i have no idea on the games, besides that its for all the systems-xbox, ps2, ps1, gamecube, gba
my only guess is anything from last xmas and older, like we had marked to 19.91 in october, i dont think it will include greatest hits/platinum hits etc...
if i find out ill post here

i forget the other stuff on it, but i remember that any discman besides sony's are gonna be 29.99

next weeks flyer looks ok too

My wife & I are expecting a baby in January & need a baby dresser - were thinking of buying it form Babies R Us.

Does anyone know if their Boxing Day sale would cover special order items? (Such as the baby dresser we want?) I'm thinking not, but since there are employees in this thread, I thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

These games could be the last chance we get to trade at Blockbuster. Savings won't be as good as the $15 3-pack from Walmart, but still not too bad.

If you are looking to save money, you can got to any store and buy a normal dresser. Apparently by calling it "baby" they can charge you 25% more. Unless you are looking for one with the change table on it.

They're too expensive. Wait for Baby Days at Sears and get it then. You can also cash in your Sears points if you have any for more savings. Congrats!

well so far there is no list of games that are 9.91
which really sucks since i have to be in sunday morning at 5 to check which ones are 9.91

but i have an idea that its pretty much older games, none of the greatest hits etc...

so its good if there is an older game u always wanted but it was to much to get, but worth the 9.91

This was pathetic. Little box on the floor that had gamecube black and buised and two baseball ones. A handfull of ps2 + xbox and a poor assortment of gba.
I was first in the store, no one else interested. Didn't buy any.

Zellers was just as bad. A box with games spilled out into a single shopping cart. No prices/sign so I asked and was told "they varry all different". I assumed they must be the $10 ones as there were no others. At the very bottom pulled out two animal crossing and bought them. Single copies of a couple other gamecube ones, swingerz golf and baseball, and very, very old PS2/GBA ones.

just came back from toysrus.... *NOTHING* good..... every game sucked or really old games....

not much to choose either... they told us *ANY* of the games marked as $XX.X1 (i.e. price tag ending with a 1 cent digit on it) are all $10..... but ended up finding nothing good that had the stupid $XX.X1 tag on it..... those that did have this tag were all just crappy games.... ..... what a waste of my time....

i went up to the cashier and she told me "yah, all the good games are gone" and i was like "WHAT??? don't u put out the games this morning?" .... (note: i was 1 of 1st 10 ppl to line up at the door at 8am, so technically i should have the *best* selection).... the CSR didn't respond....

man... i imagine that the employees took all the good games already.... ....
thats prbly y they said "all good games gone".... like i mean, how could all the good games be possibly gone when i was there when it opened??? thats so much BS.... certainly they weren't on sale b4 boxing day so it MUST have been the CSRs that got all the good games b4 hand!.... damn it!

btw i 4got 2 mention that *my* local toysrus were so "ill-prepared" .... technically, almost *everyone* who came early for cheap vid games on b-day had to ask "where are the $10 games???" (incl. myself  )..... and their response was as i have stated previously above: "only the games with price tag $XX.X1 on them".....

i don't suppose this was the case for everyone that went to their local toysrus looking for cheap vid games...

Twin Snakes are $29.99 with 25% off on toysrus.ca, I checked it this morning, but prefer having it immediately, so went to local toysrus, and they did pm for me. But it took very long time, because when I was there, the staff did NOT know which titles are on $9.99 sale, he said the guy with the list took it home and they can't find him, wtf? so he has no idea what's on sale. Anyway, I got twin snakes pmed, I was hoping for more details, bit disappointed.

I didn't take a look at the Xbox games since I don't own an Xbox.

I saw...

PS2
Rygar
Fighter Maker 2

Silent Scope 3 (I think)

There was barely a GC game selection, and the rest were crap games.

I picked up Rygar though. I wish they had Rez at my TRU. :|

copy = PS2.... the "game bin" that had these cheap games in them only had a bunch of PS2/XBOX games,..... no NGC..... but it all depends on location as well....

btw, u said TRU had an "old and dirty" copy, but isn't it in its orginal pkging?... it should be, considering that its NOT a prev. played game.... its a new game unopened but an old game in the market.... so if its in its original pkgin, then it should be ok......

and if it was a "really good" game.... then the price should've stayed high for a while and should have not dropped all the way down to only $10.... what i mean is if it was popular, for example, like Halo, then price should've dropped slightly but not by too much.... u can tell that Halo was REALLY popular.... when did Halo come out?... i dunno when but its price sure stayed firm as hell until now boxing week for ~$20....(nice!).....

I think this would be a good review, I'm not too sure though.

I've read in magazines and other places that BG&E is a great game, but it was released during a busy season, so it was not really noticed.

If the copies at TRU weren't dirty and didn't look damaged, I would have picked it up without hesitating. The price sure doesn't stop me from buying it.

A lot of good games get overlooked especially this time of year when the masses flock to sequals or blockbusters. BGAE was just that. It received good reviews but nobody bought it last year so the price dropped quick. Good sellers with full prices don't guarentee a good game.

As for Halo, it has held its price beceause MS has been able milk it for all these years. All other games that have sold this many copies are greatest / platinum hits. No knock on Halo as I have it.

-------------------------

no and yes.... i purchase games based on good reviews by BOTH friends and mag. reviews.... less dependent on what other ppl says about the game (eg. online game forums)

actually, to me, a popular games doesn't mean anything to me.... i'd rather buy a "good" game instead.... for example, look at Halo 2 (i just traded it in with BBV but havent tried it out yet); lotsa ppl buy only on the basis that the 1st halo was good.... so this is where popularity of the game comes in place... ppl thought that the 1st was great and thus decided to buy the 2nd one just for the heck of it.....

so personally, i prefer good over popular games....

I think this would be a good review, I'm not too sure though.

I've read in magazines and other places that BG&E is a great game, but it was released during a busy season, so it was not really noticed.

If the copies at TRU weren't dirty and didn't look damaged, I would have picked it up without hesitating. The price sure doesn't stop me from buying it.

i highly doubt it (BGAE) is comparable to FF... :D

u say that it was released during a busy season... as in a holiday OR do u mean that it was released when other "hotter" games were released, thus every1 bought what they considered a "better game" and ditched BGAE???

MJM ;)

BG&E is not an RPG, how can you compare it with FF?

I don't really know how to describe a game I've never played, so I can't really say if it's 'really' good or not.

well i'm not comparing it with BGAE based on whether or not its an RPG....

i'm just tryin to say that if i actually played BGAE, no matter what i'd still prefer FF and say that its much better than most games out there...
