Ths company www.friendtech.com makes an Xbox system that comes with a 1400 mhz celeron processor rather than the standard 733 that the regular Xbox comes with. The main thing I can think of that this would be nice for is you could actually play high-defination TV's show/movies etc from your Xbox without having to use the upscaler. From what I've read the standard Xbox CPU is not fast enough to process true HD at more than 10 fps, which would make it unwatchable. The 1400 mhz processor apparently eliminates this problem. The systems definately seem overpriced in my opinion but the "cool" factor might justify the purchase for some people. What I am more wondering is if any of the RFD Xbox modders could do the processor upgrade? I really haven't heard of anyone offering it before. Any comments are welcome:)

Say good bye to xbox live if you try this.

If the system has 'non standard' hardware, you can't connect.

I believe according to the info that it has a switch to go back and fourth between the 2 processor speeds.

*bump*...just in case anyone else wants to comment on this system, especially the Xbox modders. :)

The pin count and labor to do this would be nuts. The Xbox mod stuff is easy until you actually try to replace the RAM and esp. the CPU.
Unless you want to prove your ub3r-l33t skilz with a soldering iron, it's so not worth it. I'm almost sure you will be get banned for this at some point on Live! as MS is probably recording your CPU ID somewhere.
