Well I had a Supercard previously (2 of 'em along with an M3-CF, don't ask me why :D ) and the slot-2 cards previously all were geared for GBA stuff thus they have at least 32MB of RAM onboard. The Opera browser requires that extra RAM to be present since there isn't much on the actual DS that's available.
So if you want to use the Opera browser and don't want to track the real RAM cart down by buying the official DS browser from Nintendo, then you need to get a slot-2 solution and the hacked Opera browser ROM for that specific slot-2 device.

Sorry, I've cross posted this to a number of threads, but I think that this deserves some attention:

I just bought one of the new Crimson DS Lites without the Brain Age 2 bundle and I'm sad to report that it is plagued by the reduced viewing angle screen.

I started up the new Crimson DS Lite and noticed that the image got washed out at lesser angle than my other black an pink DS Lites. In other words, I could tilt the older DS Lites to greater angles before the colors would wash out, but with the Crimson, there is a smaller "sweet spot."

Interestingly enough, the new Crimson DS Lite with its supposedly inferior screen appears to have a quicker response time for its LCD. I notice less ghosting in NSMB, but that was just from a subjective comparison.

If you are going to play your DS Lite at the perfect angle all the time, then you won't notice any problem. For me though, sometimes I lay in bed to play or my arms get tired and I need to shift positions a little bit. With the Crimson DS Lite, my gaming position options are more limited.

The color combo of the red and black are very sharp, and the matte plastic backing is an excellent alternative over the glossy finish.

The substandard screen viewing angle is a deal breaker for me though, but I'm picky about my displays.

I was thinking of going to pacific mall, but i think that place might be more expensive than consolesource.com..

I don't recommend any at the moment. M3DsSimply/R4's updates have really gone down the drain lately. I'm not too familiar with EZFlash (I did have one of their cards during the GBA days). Slot-2 solutions are still pricey for some reason. But if you see a supercard on sale (or an M3 slot-2 solution) that uses microSD grab one. You'll need it to play GBA homebrew anyways. If you don't play GBA, you might as well just buy the real DS browser and support Nintendo/Opera. At least that way you can leave the RAM cart in slot-2 all the time.

I've read that you can use the EZ Flash 3in1 with the Slot1 cards, or some of them anyway.
Just a final thing, the website I'm looking at has sold out of the M3... I know it's exactly the same as the R4, but is there any difference on the support end? I just know the M3 because I have the M3 Adapter for my old DS, but I don't know anything about the company that does the R4.

Support wise, it's similar. I'd say R4 has more support since their updates always came out before the M3 does. If you already have the M3 adapter, why not just keep using it then along with the M3DS or R4? Sure it'll stick out a little but you don't have to keep it plugged in all the time unless you're gonna use the Opera browser for the DS.

Huh, the M3 Adapter will support the DS Browser?
I thought you needed something with the extra RAM... or just any Slot2 loader will do?
And, so, going for the R4 is okay?

M3 slot-2's has the 32MB of RAM for GBA purposes. You need both a slot 2 and slot1 solution to use the Opera browser. Basically the R4/M3DsSimply loads the Opera browser, searches slot2 for the presence of the RAM cart (or patched up to look for the M3 or Supercard RAM) then loads up fully. So you can't just have a slot 1 or a slot 2 solution but both.

geez i was just wondering if there were any .... i'm thankful that its cheap, but i'm confused since there were people saying that theirs lasted for quite some time and were comparable to the actual hori... comparing that to the cheap belkin screen protectors i used on a palm, i don't know why these scratch even easier under less pressure/use. i was just hoping that there would be some sort of high quality plastic that could be bought :-0

Aright, I picked up a Mac a while back but I haven't really added to my R4 since then. Just today, I tried to add some homebrew on it but for some reason, my Mac wouldnt' recognize the USB dongle that came with it. Anyone know why? Is the dongle not compatible with Mac? Or do I need to download something specifically for the R4 to make it compatible with my Mac? Or do I need to turn something off/on in my Mac settings to have my Mac recognize the dongle?

Thanks for your help!

Yes they are. You interact with the screen a lot with the DS and that plastic can only take so much before you scratch the surface. Might as well scratch a cheap piece of plastic. Eventually I went back to my old Palm screen protectors that I bought a long while back. I just cut it to fit the DS screen. Not perfect by any means but it doesn't look too ghetto either.

Yup, using the black stylus my DS came with... I guess I've been playing too many games requiring stylus movement ala zelda >:( . money is not much of an issue since the skins are under $20 for the most part... just looking for a protector that would protect my screen from being horribly marred :(

if i go the IS/BSE route, would i have to remove it every few months or so as well? if thats the case, it may just be better to purchase a bunch of cheaper screen protectors and replace as necessary...?

hi guys.
sorry to interrupt but I'm trying to convince me to get a NDS lite. I have started to read about 10 pages of this thread but I dont think I can read all the 200 posts!

Is it whether I want a NDS lite or not, because I do, it is whether it can do what I want:
-play normal cartridge games (normal feature)
-Can it be used as a PIM? with sync to outlook or iCal?
-Can I read magazine (ebook, pdf??)?
-Is there any dictionary soft? like Fnglish dict or French?
-zone free? can play games purchases in Japan?

Bried, what can I do with a NDS lite? and maybe what I cannot do? What can I expect...eventually I want to have a carry around tools/entertainment device a bit like a pda, more entertainment oriented (just basic PIM feature are nice(cal, alarm clock)

it may not be the right thread to post this, if so redirect me.
Thanks.

Officially, only GBA games. There some SNES, Genesis, etc. emulators if you get an R4 or something similar, but the compatibility and speed are nowhere near 100%.

-Can it be used as a PIM? with sync to outlook or iCal?

No. The closest you'll get is probably DSOrganize (http://www.dragonminded.com/?loc=ndsdev/DSOrganize) (homebrew) which isn't all that advanced.

-Can I read magazine (ebook, pdf??)?

No. I think you can use .txt files through a homebrew ebook reader, but that's about it. There's a decent version of the Opera web browser out there though, assuming you get a RAM expansion cart. So if you're close to a wireless internet connection, you might be able to do some web browsing.

-Is there any dictionary soft? like Fnglish dict or French?

I know there are Japanese ones, but I'm not sure about other languages. I don't think dictionary software is really popular outside of Japan.

-zone free? can play games purchases in Japan?

Yeah, the games are all region free.

Thank you for all the answers.

Just to come back on some points...and maybe add a few more.

I took a look at dsorganize, but I could not find out what this is really? to me it looks like more of an OS-like soft for the DS (App launcher, File browser) but it looks cool.

As for PIM, I am not looking for fully load PDA like soft, but just a Calender with alarms and reminders...

Also I am not quite sure I understand the following concept...homebrew: it just need it is a custom soft made by someone else but Nintendo?
Does it mean any mod on a NDS lite?

Also I forgot to ask about music playback...can it play ogg?mp3?

So far I understand that with the purchase of a NDlite a 4DS or M3 kit is a must. am i correct so far?

It's a really basic organizer; probably not what you're looking for. It's mostly text-based and doesn't have any alarms or anything. There's a couple of screenshots here (http://img.qj.net/uploads/articles_module/91089/DSOrganize_screenshot_qjpreviewth.jpg?008900). You also have to boot into it manually every time you turn on your DS. Your DS won't auto-load into it. You'll also never be able to do any syncing either.

The DS probably isn't powerful enough to really be a good PIM. It was basically designed just for games and nothing else. The DS version of the Opera (http://www.opera.com/products/devices/nintendo/) web browser is actually quite nice, though.

Basically, if you want a lot of games and some decent file-browsing capability/playback, you'll be set. Your mileage may vary if you want to do things beyond that.

Also I am not quite sure I understand the following concept...homebrew: it just need it is a custom soft made by someone else but Nintendo?

Does it mean any mod on a NDS lite?

Yeah, homebrew software is just software developed by users, not by Nintendo or any official third parties. You have to load homebrew software onto a flashcart like the M3 kit, R4, or whatever.

Also I forgot to ask about music playback...can it play ogg?mp3?

Yes, again through homebrew software. An application called Moonshell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MoonShell) is probably the best known one.

So far I understand that with the purchase of a NDlite a 4DS or M3 kit is a must. am i correct so far?

Definitely yes if you want to use any homebrew stuff, because that's the only way you'll be able to. Or if you want to carry all your games/stuff on a single card.

You'd probably never have to remove the IS/BSE screen protector unless you actually scratch it, which is pretty hard to do. It's not hard to remove, but it can leave a little residue behind.

That said, I used to have the BSE protector on my screens. In terms of feel it was definitely noticeable that the BSE was there, due to added friction, but I didn't feel it detracted from gameplay. Visually, with the screens on, you can't really tell that the BSE is there.

However, after a while—and I haven't heard of this happening to anybody else—a cloudy blotch started appearing underneath the protector on my touchscreen. It wasn't too noticeable when the DS was on, but I decided to give the Hori protectors a shot.

I'm glad I did. The Hori protectors are crystal clear and, in terms of the stylus, they feel just like the original DS screen. I much prefer them over the BSE protectors. Though, unlike the BSE, the Hori protectors do get scratched up after a while. I got mine in May and they've got a number of little scratches, but I've been using my DS almost every day since then. The scratches aren't noticeable when the screens are on, unless you're in direct sunlight.

Also, my sister has fake Hori protectors on her DS. I used to think they looked really great but—after seeing the fake protectors side-by-side with the genuine article—I can say that the Hori protectors are a lot brighter.

I have the BSE on my DS's outer body, and I love it, but I kind of wish I went with the InvisibleShield because my BSE is starting to show some wear. The InvisibleShield is like double the price of the BSE, but I definitely would have made use of the InvisibleShield's lifetime warranty.

Does this seem like a good case? I have also not dealt with this site before so I'm not sure about its reliability...

I also thought screen protectors were quite expensive for sheets of plastic, but this one is $1.30. I've heard good things about Hori but is this even real?

They're fake Hori screen protectors. DX also has the real thing (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5363) for $7.43. They're noticably better than the fakes, but they're also eight times the price so they'd better be.

I made a post (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5861646&postcount=3042) a page back about screen protectors. The genuine Hori ones are much better than the fakes, but the fakes are decent.

I have a couple question about homebrew apps / emulators, hopefully some of you could answer them.

1. What notable homebrew actually require RAM expansions, aside from the Opera browser and DSLinux?

2. Following the last question, what's a good browser that doesn't require RAM expansions? Does the one in DSOrganize work well?

3. I read about the Ewin Expansion Pak, which is pretty much like EZ 3-in-1, without the rumble. I don't need rumble anyway, but does it work well as RAM expansion for anything other than the Opera browser?

4. What's the best NES & SNES emulators currently, in terms of compatability?

Thank you.

I just want to say Contra is frickin' awesome. :cheesygri I was playing it for about an hour on my friend's DS and it was extremely easy to learn how to play (since you just shoot, jump or grapple using the hook).

I was playing easy and used all my continues on the second stage. A great game for anyone who loves a challenge...

1. The ram pack is really only for those. Otherwise I personally think its a waste of money, but the opera browser is a cool thing to have.

2. If you want to use a browser, get the ram pack, not really any point otherwise. the M3 real rampack shouldn't be too much. PM me if you are interested in one.

3. Again the rampacks are really only for the above. Any other uses are pretty obscure.

4. Check out www.gbatemp.net for info on that one.

Thank you.

Check out this Case (http://www.kickgaming.com/ndslite-airfoam-case-white-p-65.html) I have a black one and a white one not used. Thought it would fit my DS Phat. PM me if you want it.

And for skins I swear by bestskinsever. I wish they would make skins for everything!

Is Jump! Ultimate Stars just a updated version of Jump! SuperStars? should i play Jump! SuperStars before Jump! Ultimate Stars?

It is the updated version, but no need to play the first one. the second one is by far a totally better game. Only point to play the first one is if you can actually read japanese and want to know the whole "story" part of it.

Just wait until you beat a certain portion of the game and unlock CHALLENGE mode to unlock more bonus content, they managed to squeeze some old goodies that are just awesome nostalgia value and I've only gone through 11/40 challenges as well.

I think InvisibleShield covers both the outside and the inside, so that would include protectors around the buttons, but it's rather pricey. If you don't need the inner protection it's much cheaper to go with BestSkinsEver.

Okay, I know nothing about the DS so please be patient with me. One of my co-workers from our European office has asked me to buy a DS Lite and send it to her since they are all out of stock in the UK. Her only concern is that the games she buys there may not work on a Canadian purchased DS Lite. Does anybody know for sure if this will be a problem?

Thanks in advance.

Games are region free. Only differences are US releases are english only - European releases typically have multilanguage support. I'd be more concerned about charging - they'll need a voltage adapter/converter unless you go USB charging. I'd personally find it a huge pain to have to carry around an adapter just to plug my DSL into a wall.

I personally haven't used any of these, so I can't vouch for their quality, but this seems to be a cheap solution to charging - can't go wrong with free shipping either.
UK Charger for NDS Lite (85V~265V) (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3650)

Less optimal, but more universal solutions:
USB Charging Cable for NDS Lite (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3152)
Universal Switching Power Adapter for NDS Lite (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2208) (still need an adapter for the wall plug)

I can't comment on the charge time, although I do know it is fairly quick. I think under 3 hours for a full charge. It lasts a LONG time. average play I get a few days out of it sometimes even a week. but if its constant play i think its roughly 6-10 hours?

Hi I have a few questions on the R4,

1. Am I able to save properly in games using the R4? What I mean is, if I play Pokemon Diamond using the R4 will it allow me to save properly so I can access the point where I was after I turn the DS off?

2. Does it matter if the R4 has a spring or not?

2. What's the price range for the R4 with a micro SD?

Also, Is there a preference people have between the Sandisk Micro SD 1 GB and the Kingston Micro DS 1 GB?

Thanks

1. R4 saves the games as if it is a real game save so if the game has a save point, you will be there when you load your game. it does not offer "real-time" saves where you will be able to start exactly where you left off.

2. shouldnt matter. people say the new non-spring ones feel cheaper in build. some people with the spring ones have experienced springs breaking or the locking mechanism breaking (i personally have not seen this with my own r4, nor have any of my friends). if it does mess up, you can just remove the spring and you will be okay.

2. $47-65

you shouldnt have any probs with either one of those cards unless you are playing the 2-3 games out of the entire DS library that have minor problems with non-assembled-in-japan kingston microsd cards.

Blah... just spent about an hour browsing through the thread - I am strongly, strongly considering getting a NDSL. I've never played one, but I've seen them and they look pretty cool - I haven't played a handheld since the original Game Boy. I've seen the M3 DS and the R4DS are the two popular "backup" carts. I've looked for pro's/con's of both and can't really find a good comparison between the two - I've probably missed it somewhere in the thread (Its a big one ;)

R4DS seems to be the popular choice. M3 has 2 options and I have no idea the differences between the 2 (Simply and REAL).

What should I get and why? Who is the best online retailer for this option?

Look forward to your various feedback!
Thanks for any help you can provide!

My son is getting a NDS Lite for Christmas. His only other handheld game console is a Game Boy Advance. Future Shop has the 18-1 Pro Starter Kit listed in it's flyer for $19.49. Seems Best Buy is about the same at $19.99. They look like regular prices. Should we wait? Is there a better bundle out there? He'll be getting the NDS Lite right before we have to do lots of traveling in the car for Christmas.

It pretty much comes with everything you need. You might want to think about a screen protector... But at 120-130 bucks for a new one you can always replace it down the road if you take care of your stuff. I don't have a protector on my Ice-Blue Japanese DSL (had it for a year and a half?) and its still looks pretty decent with only a couple minor scratches. I never use my fingers though, always the stylus. Stupid hinge cracked though - so much for the theory that the Japanese units were better built.

Also, a case is a good idea. There's been a lot of discussion about cases, just search this thread.

I got a car charger / USB cable from Real Canadian Superstore. It has ends on it for the DS lite and the original DS models. I have the original DS and it's getting very hard to find accessories for it. Everything on store shelves is for the DS lite now.

The car charger has a USB connector on it and the cable it came with works on any powered USB port. I have been using the charger with a USB cable for my phone as a car charger too.

ok MY opinion and MY point of view for the wii - 3/10.

why?

********************BAD************************

- the graphics are horrible, i tried boxing yesterday and it sucks! it doesnt make the move that i wanna do, the sensor was right in front of me.

- i drop the console once, stop working for a full day had to go repair to some place in toronto.

- adding friend / wi-fi play, is ridiculously stupid. wii server is really lame

********************GOOD**************************

i gave the console to my little cousin, and hes in love with it. i guess thats not a waste of money but a nice x-mas present.

if you want to make a little extra money, i think you should buy it. RESELL

I guess some people will hate me because i wrote my point of view. One thing i gotta say is, if you like that then good for you!

I was talking to my friend and they said all the BestBuys they checked were sold out of Ds lites but it was in Costco. I wasn't even aware that Costco sold Ds lites. They managed to get one there so won't hurt to drop by I suppose.

As for screen protectors, i ended up being lazy and not getting one, and I saved a couple of bucks. My screen doesn't appear to be scratched and i've been playing cooking mama and rayman rabbids 2 on it. I also had my very handheld ******** friends play it and it's still fine.

I don't have a hard case on it but there is a silicon cover on it. It makes the space for the buttons bigger and it feels very weird when i play on my friend's ds that doesn't have a silicon case... I prefer it with the skin.

I'm not sure about solid RPG titles as I've been playing mostly mini-games and Contra, but you could check out Hotel Dusk. I've heard many good praises about this game. :cheesygri

Hey guys. I just bought an M3 Real from Divineo, which I found to be the cheapest (http://www.divineo.ca, $35), and I bought a Patriot Signature MicroSD 2GB card from Canada Computers (http://www.canadacomputers.com/main.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=013910&cid=990.218) ($22), which is also the cheapest 2GB microSD card I could find, and everything is working great! Hi, I'm interested in ordering an M3 DS Real for my niece's NDS. Can someone tell me what's the difference between the M3 DS Real Rumble package and the M3 DS Real RAM Rumble package? What's the RAM for?

IS www.divineo.com the best place to order? Cost and speed of delivery?

Can I use this kingston 4gb mini SDHC flash card with the M3 DS Real?

If you know of pacfic mall they are always in stock of them but the thing is they sell bundles that mostly are atleast over $200 that come with mods and all of that stuff.

I am also looking to buy a Nintedo DS lite, and i've looked everywhere and i can't seem to find anywhere that has ds's in stock. Bestbuy told me last week that they were supposed to get more ds's by yesterday (Jan 4th) but they didn't get it. Anyone know somewhere that will have stock?

damn gina!

check here for live blogging
http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/10/liveblogging-th.html

taken from site:

13:46: The size of the unit has been reduced by 12% and 2.6 millimeters -- and the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot is gone. Sad face.

13:59: More from Gemaga. As the rumors indicated, the DSi has a larger screen, 3.25 inches. There's a camera, and an audio-playing function. The camera is... goodness. 300,000 pixels? Is that 3 megapixels? You can apparently edit pictures using the touch screen. When playing back sounds, you can adjust the pitch and the playback speed. Why's that important? Why, for studying languages or playing music by ear, of course.

14:00: There's an SD memory card slot so you can dump your pictures right to Wii's photo channel, for example

14:04: Whoa, there's onboard memory apparently, so you can load it up with software... like games. You can download games. With Wii Points. Holy cow. Wii Points will be renamed "Nintendo Points." This just went from "well, interesting" to "must buy."

14:05: Nintendo DS web browser is built in.

i would think that there would be a graphics boost becasue of the second touch screen and the built in browser which would require more ram and power for it to run smoothly.

That goes without saying (graphics boost) but with no resolution upgrade, it'll be a waste. The DS browser sucked hard since the screen res was pathetic. Hopefully they've rectified that. Dual VGA would be drool worthy.

According to the neogaf folks, dual touchscreen was mistranslated.
So this looks like the DS but with dual cameras, better mic, larger screens (same res), free browser, 2GB built in memory and better speakers.
My desire to upgrade just took a nosedive. Pass.

Hm, not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on me but the polygon edges look smoothed out in this video:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n10/conference2008fall/mov/ds.html?n10

So it looks like it maybe a higher res screen and it's doing some sort of upscaling. If that's the case, day 1 purchase for me.

is Nintendo still fixing the right hinge problem for free? My original DS lite 2+ year old hinge finally broke tonight :(

jusane
Oct 6th, 2008, 07:50 PM
well i think it's only a one year warranty.

But you can check your serial number at:
http://www.nintendo.com/cpp/repairs/warrantyLookup.do

plus, they dont seem to "officially" fix cracked hinges anymore, their excuse being, "it's been fixed by now", and they ask for ~$70 in repair charges.

to get around this, you go through their online repair form (still being in warranty of course) and choose that you have a problem with a sticky/unresponsive button, and setup the repair through that. also, in the little note you send in with the ds, write down for problems, both unresponsive button and hinge crack.

worked for me last month; received a new one.

but wait, since yours is an old one, where there really was still a problem, i dunno what the situation is, give them a call i guess.
1-800-255-3700
there excuse could be it's out of warranty :P

Just curious - If I bought a DS, but never registered it - could it be covered by warranty? This is a ficticious question as I have no intention of trying it but...

Many stores don't include the serial number on receipts...does Nintendo know which stores sold which serials? What is stopping me from selling my unregistered DS - giving a receipt from my business -

Could the buyer register the product, and get 1 yr warranty?

when my workplace gets shipments (not DS's), certain items have the serial numbers documented. sort of like xxxxxx001 - xxxxxx999 so i would assume they know which serial numbers went to which authorized dealer. i dont know if nintendo does this though

New DSi will be region locked..

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=253920

and that just dropped sales by another wide margin >.>
seriously, Nintendo is doing just fine with the current DS Lite, the DSi is barely called an improvement and will end up as an open box sale bin item just like the Game Boy Advance's 3rd gen GBA Micro.

Just wondering which size MicroSD card should I purchase for a DSTT? I ordered a DSTT and MicroSDHC to USB adapter for a friend recently and he needs a MicroSD card for it.

It seems 4GB and 8GB are a better deal per GB but I don't know if all the space is needed and if there's any difference in load times between the different SDHC classes.

the best games on DS in rom form don't take up 2 gb, 4gb would be your best bet, 8gb is only needed if you wanna turn the ds into music/video/game playing device.

in my DSTT, it came with a usb memory card reader, don't know why you ordered additional one.

I heard 50 games take up 2GB, is this true? How many DS games are there in total so far?

The newer DSTT come with choice for what is included. For the cheapest option, it does not include anything extra .... https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15613

I actually prefer it this way since the one they include looks like the common cheap one found on eBay for $0.50 or less. The one I purchased looks like a real memory card reader and not as easy to misplace ... http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180293800542

I just received mine and was surprised at how small it is! Looks like this MicroSD card reader is used by Sandisk too :)

It depends on how large the games are. Puzzle games tend to take up little space while music games will take up a lot. I have a mix of 43 games currently on my microSD which totals 1.7GB, so 50 average games for 2GB sounds about right.

Apparently, the newer games seem to be bigger in size, due to longer gameplay, graphics etc. For example, final fantasy are like 128mb while bomberman are 8mb, there is quite a difference there. Its hard to judge how many games you can fit 'per GB', since its totally depend on the size of each game.

I would say the 4GB microSDHC is probably the standard for an average user, while 2GB is good for users who are only plays less frequently. 1GB is out of the question.

It's all speculation at this point. Just because the current NDS flash carts don't work doesn't mean they can't create new ones that will.

Up to today's generation console. I dont think any manufacturer has 100% successfully stopped the modding industry. Its only the matter of time.

Ouendan 1 and 2 and Elite Beat Agents are well over 100mb and these came out years ago.

Can anyone pricecheck a DS Lite I'm selling in the BST? I don't want to overcharge or undercharge.

Onyx DS Lite bought Feb 2008. Played for the first month and never bothered with it again. No GBA slot cover, no charger, no box or manuals. Absolute mint condition, though. No dead or stuck pixels or scratches or blemishes.

I've listed it at 70$ and is this suitable?

I think that's a very fair price. If I were you I'd put it at $80 since you'll likely get lowballers. At least you'll have some wriggle room with your price.

yes, some cards have updated their fw. if your card hasnt been updated you can use a cheat code to deactivate the security feature that makes the game freeze. works for me on my dstt and real r4

Cooking Mama will run you 19.99$ish new at EBGames. Pretty good game if you ask me. Also consider Animal Crossing, endless hours of fun.

im just lazy and technologically ignorant. i'd rather walk in a store pay $20 and buy a game. :cheesygri
Besides a card doesn't look as "fun" as a game with the graphics on the cover etc. Looks a little nicer opening too. Not really a big deal in the overall scheme of things I know, but it's a gift for a little girl. :)

R4 is old and outdated and not all that supported any longer (compared to the competition). Get a CycloDS. You won't regret it.

If you want cheap, then yes Acekard 2 would be best. I'd splurge a little more and get the 2i in case you ever get a DSi.
