What's wrong with RFD's search feature?

I've found that most of my attempts in the last couple of months to use the search feature get timed-out. Anybody know what's going on?

I occasionally receive "page not found" errors from my search results, but not with the actual search pages.

that happens every so often, but thats not my real problem. the problem is I don't get any usuable results when searching! I always get yr old threads, never any newer threads in the results. making using the search pointless.

I think it's largely due to the user -> keyboard error

Yeah.. I was trying to find a 20 off coupon for staples and tried "20 off"

"staples coupon", etc.. I couldn't find what I wanted for like 5 minutes!!

Were you actually seeing the search results, though? I don't think the problem the majority of people are experiencing isn't that they can't find their query, but that the actual results page doesn't appear every now and then.

I haven't had a problem in the last couple of days though, since I switched to Thunderbird for RFD. Tabs are my friends when opening up "new posts" :)

It doesn't work when I search at the main splash page or the main forum pages.

It usually works when I search while I'm inside a specific forum.
