Hi there...I've been using Paypal pretty much entirely for all my internet and ebay transactions...now a CDN bidder has asked if I'll take Certapay...has anyone had any experience with this service? Security? Reliability? Fraudulent connections?
Thanks all,
Dan

certapay is a bank transfer, theres a 100x larger chance you will get ripped off, and you cannot fight it at all. Most banks will not even flinch to help you if someone runs off with your money. Stick to paypal, funded by a credit card.

You're right in a sense.
If you buy from a new trader, it's probably BEST if you paid through PayPal since they offer better coverage. But if your buyer wants to pay through EMT, then I don't see a problem with it.
I usually use Certapay aka EMT for most of my transaction with fellow Canadians on RFD, no problems at all. Fees are way cheaper than PayPal ($1.50) too, and it's quick.

i've also used certapay and find it a good price and pretty quick.. i used to like paypal but its just to expensive to use anymore.
But as said above.. paypal has coverage and transfers can be reversed and or cancelled..certapay, once sent its sent.

Do try www.certapay.com or at least Google it. The whole process is there.

Even with PayPal, it's buyer beware.
Certapay has its shortcomings but for Canadian transactions where you have done your background/reference checks, it's the way to go for me and many others.
PayPal claims have to be acted upon so quickly that, for me anyway, I find the claim process basically useless.

He's asking if he should accept it, not if he should pay via certapay.
It's much safer to accept Certapay than it is to accept Paypal. With credit card payments paypal buyers can reverse charges for no reason if they want, they can make anything up.
I use it all the time, fast, cheap, and secure. The Major banks in Canada are behind it.

Like everyone said. It's really simple.
If you sell you should use certapay.
If you buy, use paypal (credit card)
No fees both ways.
Simple.
