Ebay threads in Hot Deals should be automatically locked

I believe that threads refering to ebay listings in Hot Deals should be locked simply due to the fact that they simply are not deals, but rather private sales.

Auctions no.

Buy it now bulk (10+ items) sales? That's just a normal sale but through the ebay system. Those should be fine. And the quantity at least is tracked properly, unlike Staples.

I've seen actual stores that use eBay to list their items.. xoxide, coolpc, all these US stores.. if you guys find an item selling at mass quantities, why not let everyone know?

The worse thing that I'd hate to see is someone buying 1000 fans (for ie.) at $.25 each, then selling it off here for $2 a piece.. then that's really bad..but as long as the public knows what's going on, this shouldn't occur..

Auctions aren't hot deals. They are auctions and the price isn't known until the end.

Things with fixed prices sold on ebay (or maybe a hot buy it now) are legit hot deals. I got some really good really cheap laser toner from an ebay store via link here at RFD.

I agree and disagree. 1) I agree if its one item for sale, ie Burberry Purse
but I would disagree 2) If its a shop selling many items

Well, then we should have a separate forum for eBay auction deals. Why bother sorting through unnecessary clutter when I can just do a quick search on eBay?

eBay forum works for me; it isn't really a hot deal, in my opinion, if it doesn't benefit everyone interested.

Im sure we all buy things that don't benefit us but do interest us...

eBay forum is an good idea, perhaps to list all the "interesting" or useful things that are being sold at mass quantity.. auctions shouldnt be listed but should be kept private else everyone will keep bidding and raising price against each other :D

Still might be too much of a hassle to maintain though. I think the back to school forum would have been more useful to keep around in my opinion.

Seriously, eBay is easy enough to use as it is. And with auctions, even mass market wholesellers run out of stock once in a while. It would be pointless to click on a seller and realize the item you wanted isn't even listed. I for one wouldn't want people here poking around my auctions :D

Also just to add .. another reason why it's dangerous to post your own auction id in the forums : easy for someone to sabotage your auctions if they don't like your opinions. For this reason, most people on the eBay discussion forums use posting id's (ie. register a new eBay id for this purpose, and have feedback of 10 or more for full posting privileges).

Thus we might have people creating new forum id's just for the purpose of advertising their own auctions. This would only create too much confusion.

it happens anyways so i dont see's the point in trying to stop something thats unavoidable.. if someone wants to risk their ebay auctions, then they choose to show it at rfd.. else we can advertise hot deals on mass quantities that are hopefully not from rfd

maybe we should try this out for a few months and see the results. if its sour then we can stop it
