I only get the "server too busy" when sending PM's but not when checking out the forums...

Once again, there may be some work being done our servers at the moment. I believe Ryan mentioned it elsewhere.

Shouldn't server maintenace work be done during non-peak hours? That's usually the norm for any kind of reputable server provider.
Sounds like a line they are feeding you for bad equipment.

Complaint, complaint, and more complaint. Any forums or sites have their downtime. Maybe when the forum is back on full speed, you'll start a new thread to show some appreciation?

Could you remind us how much you're paying to use RFD ?

Well I don't pay anything to us RFD but damn straight they are getting coin from sponsers that see me and others visit and feel the site is worth advertising on! That said this is a great site and going thru some major growing pains that I'm willing to put up with. With the cross border trading getting harder and harder this site is great so I guess I'll just hang in there while there are probs :)!

lol...if you want improvements for something that you already get for free, then feed it more revenue by getting everyone to go on a mad ad-banner-clicking-spree :cheesygri

I admit that the site can get really slow and I use cable. But considering that the site is free and my subscriptions are saved, I can't complain. FWIW, I got the server is busy about 5 times this evening.
It goes to show you that word of mouth is spreading about this site. I wonder how it will be on Xmas nite/Boxing day morning? I dont want to miss out on a similar cellphone deal that was a steal last year at Future Shop on boxing day.

This happened with another forum I used to frequent and it just went downhill. It all begins now!
After weeks of "server too busy" type messages, the other forum totally crashed and all the messages were lost. Hope that doesn't happen here.

It may not have been the server company working on it actually... we also have a programmer trying something for us. We will improve the speed of the site and continue to add server resources as the site grows. We have been doing our best so I just ask you to bear with us for the time being.

They happen way too frequently for me. Seems worse in the mornings.
