why in the world is pedro martinez in the game pitching????

derek lowe is doing awesome...6 innings...only 1 run...he's killing the yanks...he only has like 70 pitches...and they take him out...

and put in pedro...who gives up 2 runs right away...

i don't care if pedro comes up to me and wants to be in the game...i'd tell him to sit his ass on the bench and get rest for the world series...

the yanks have woken up now!!!

i want boston to win...such an amazing comeback....but if they continue to do bonehead moves like that, i want to see the yanks come back!!!

although he's gone now... my guess would be it had to do with confidence, he probably was hoping to finish off the game strong... maybe hoping to shut the Who's Your Daddy chants :D

No, cause he want to shove another old guy to the ground (re: last years brawl and incident with Zimmeran).

Yeah, probably just wants to get some pitches in before Saturday.

from a team aspect, it's more important to get the win...instead of shoving the "who's your daddy" chants in their faces...

i don't care if pedro wanted to get some pitches in...pitch in the bullpen

don't take out your pitcher when he's on fire!!! (lowe)

Lowe was pitching on 2 days rest. 2 days!

70 pitches after throwing 100 or what not 2 nights before is pretty intense

But still, I would've let Lowe go until he got into trouble. It's not like Pedro did great when he came out...he's just not the same guy as he was in 99

Woohooo!

I'm glad Who's Your Daddy didn't stay for longer than one inning.
I was afraid he was gonna

Was there even the remotest feeling in your mind that the Yanks were going to come back when Pedro gave up those runs? It would have been good to see the Yanks make a better game of it, but I'm glad the Red Sox pulled through.

Pedro is one of the top pitchers on the team, which is why they probably put him in. Schilling couldn't pitch because he wouldn't be rested enough. With game 7 and everything on the line, I guess they didn't want to take any chances against the Yanks even though they had a big lead.

But, his record vs Yankees is not good. Manager usually does match up and the match up was not good. With 6 to 7 runs lead, he could have send Timlin earlier. Don't tell me the expected chanting did not bother Pedro a bit.

I haven't followed the series that closely, I guess you're right then.
