I gave them a fake birthday to protect my privacy. I only give them my correct name and address so that I can deposit the cheque they send me. I also deviate my answers a bit from the truth when they ask questions about me and my household, brief, I lie sometimes :D

Contract_Testin is legit. You have to provide them with your phone # and you will get a id# and pin # and you will be getting automated telephone calls fromn them and then you go to their locations...try some product and they pay you $15 bucks
(could be more/less) depening on the product.

I've probably received at least $40 from goZing... I guess I'm in their target group. :P Payment is deposited straight to PayPal so it's a nice little bonus now and then.
One thing that I find annoying is the intial email always says the survey is worth $x, and in the end the actual payment is always less. :o

Greenfield Online (greenfieldonline.com (http://www.greenfieldonline.com)) is also a huge survey company that has been around for a looong time. Because they're so big, they don't always have good payouts for every survey - sometimes it's pay-per survey, sometimes it's draw for $3000 or something. I've gotten paid by them... just pick and choose which ones you answer. ;)

Lying defeats the purpose of the survey. I have taken many online surveys (I run an online survey site), and I always tell the truth. And if there's a question I feel uncomfortable with, there's usually a "prefer not to answer option".
I could provide a list of 50+ survey companies, but most are exclusively for Americans. I've dealt with goZing, SurveySavvy, and ACOP without any problems. They're super nice, and always pay on time.

Yeah but what if there is no "Prefer not to answer option"? I don't mean I always lie, just once in a while if I think the question is too personal or it makes me uncomfortable.

I will tell you guys about a survey that I've never told anybody. I found it this summer. It's for University of Alberta students only and you can earn $10/hour to participate to the study. On some studies, you can earn up to $15/hour. I've earned about $60 ever since I joined the panel. Now that I'm working, I don't have time to go to the campus to do the survey anymore. Anyway, hope this will help out UofA students with extra cash. Just make sure you do go to the appointed study because they don't like it when you sign up for a study and don't show up. Let me know how it's going.
I will add this link to the list.

Good tip! SFU has a lot of research surveys as well... Mostly for psyc courses, I haven't heard about Business surveys... SFUers should go to mySFU.ca and look under campus events. I saw a lot during summer, but not a lot now... They have draws for $400 for some surveys (usually around 20 mins in the AQ). The ones with the cash rewards are usually longer and range from $5-30 for 30mins to 3 hours... If you're at the surrey campus, read the connect because I have seen $20 surveys for an hour of your time.

It's not for credit for your courses. It's a paid study. I did those studies during the summer and got paid at least $10/hour. I have earned $61 since I joined them. First, you have to register at the link I provide and then wait for them to email you a study number so that you can sign up (they have a schedule of studies at different times so you can choose the time that is most appropriate for you) and go do the study. They pay you right after you're done the study.

For those who sign up for UofA survey panel, check your emails. They're doing a study right now:
"Thank you for being part of the U. of A. School of Business Volunteer Research Participation Panel. We want to let you know about a study that has just been posted.
This project consists of two tasks. In the first task, you will view a series of photographs and answer questions about your ability to recognize features in them. You will then receive a monetary payment that is linked to your performance in the photograph task. In the second task, you will be asked to make decisions about donating money to other people.
Participants will earn an average of $10.00 in the study, depending on their performance and decisions. The study will take less than one hour.
We will run study sessions next Monday and Tuesday, November 1 and 2. To sign up, go to http://courses.bus.ualberta.ca/volunteer-participation/, log in under the authentication window, click on "Sign up for a Study", find our project name "DON1"; and click on "Schedule." For the session you want, click on "SignUp" and follow the instructions."

Hehe, thanks for the business survey Suzie. I signed up about 3 weeks ago and got that email on wednesday. I wonder how they judge you on your "performance" seeing how they only pay you the max amount if you perform good? Maybe they just don't want you making some crazy answers.
Anyways, I signed up for the 12 30 session on Tuesday, so maybe I'll see an RFD guy there or something. It's right at the start of my break on that day before my labs, ugh, but at least it'll be a productvie hour as compared to me sitting around in SUB doddling.

It's great that you're able to sign up for next week's study. Their schedule is not very flexible for people who work. I got my degree already but I wouldn't mind go back to the campus to do the study for money :cheesygri I would sign up for the study if their scheduled sessions are after 4pm or 5pm (after work time)
For one study, I got paid $16 because the answers you choose determine if you get paid $10, $11, ...to max $16. I got all the answers right so they paid me $16 :D

Right answers eh...I thought this was a study, not a test! Hehe, mind giving me some "hints" on what the right answers are usually? $16 would be awesome! It could recover the money I spent on my ticket to Red's last night.
Yeah, the times look most unfavorable, but ironically most of them happen when I don't have class.....just they're too early for my caffeinated body. I think they generally want U of A students anyways so they probably don't wanna change it.

Haha, definately not complaining, the problem is I have an organic chem midterm on thurs, so all my time up tilll then will be spent on that. I want to go though, but all the times are during my classes :(
So I went to the first one today, and it was quite interesting. They split us into two groups, and one was deemed the "donor" group and the other the "recipient" group. They then made each group look at photographs and give us a question about it and see if we could answer correctly. The kicker was that they said if we didn't get 50%, we get no money. So I was worried, haha, but I finished it and then came the interesting part. The people in the donor group got more than double the amount the recipient group got for it, but we had the choice to donate the money to some of them. I got $14, and I got the stats of 6 people and entered how much I would donate to each of them, and the computer would pick one person and take the amount of money I decided to give for that person and subtract it from my earnings. The first guy I looked at got $0, and answered the minimal number of questions so I was like :-0 . Anyways, I got $12 out of the deal, (they picked the lowest amount I donated as their choice) but when I went to cash it in, I saw that everyone signing for their money wrote in between $10-$14 for how much they got, so I doubt the recipient group actually was faring worse than us.
Anyways, that's a long drawn out story and besides the point. The thing I found funny was that they said they'd pay you based on your "performance" but in reality, it was your greed! If you chose to donate nothing to all 6 guys, you got the full $14! Good thing I chose to donate a lowly $2 to the guy who did the minimum work ;).
Thanks for the info suzie, the experience was actually pretty fun, and it paid for my dinner, seeing how I stayed at school till 9, argh.

Hey Firehawk, were you able to do more studies at UofA? How much money did you make so far?
Anybody else did surveys and got paid? Please update!
Ummmm, I did one last week, that paid another $10. It was basically just testing what you look for in certain products. The first half was about decisions in nutrition in buying food, and the second was about brand name computer companies and computers. I was scheduled for one this wednesday, but when I showed up, no one was there. There were four of us waiting, but we waited half an hour and no one came, so we left. Oh well, that's a grand total of $22 right now. Definately good for a few lunches, I hope they get a few more up soon, thanks again suzie ;)

I found a survey in another forum. I'm not qualified because they are looking for moms with kids.
20/20 Research Online is currently conducting a research project
regarding Health & Family Eating Habits. We are inviting women across the
country to participate in an online bulletin board discussion. We are especially looking for moms of kids ages 2-12 --- please feel free to forward this message to anyone you know with kids in this age range.
The discussions will take place online in a bulletin board format Tuesday,
December 7th through Thursday, December 9th.
A bulletin board is a new, cutting-edge way to conduct market research with
busy people like you. The discussion consists of about 15 other participants and a moderator. This format allows you to log in a couple of times a day at your convenience and take part in the current discussion anonymously. You will also be able to read everything that others have said and respond candidly.
You will need to log in at least twice a day for three days, and it will take you about 40 minutes per day to participate. You can log in from any computer with an Internet connection, whether at work, home or elsewhere.
As a token of appreciation for your time and participation, we will send you
a check for $100 at the end of the discussion.
We'd like to ask you to participate in a very brief (3-5 minutes)
online survey to see if you qualify for the discussion.
Click below to begin the quick survey:
http://www.surveywriter.net/in/survey/survey52/familyeatinghealth.asp
Thanks, and we hope to see you online soon!
(No sales or solicitations, ever. Strictly research)

I thought about emailing them, but then I thought about the graduate student who was probably conducting the study and how they'd be reprimanded if I emailed them, and having been through the stress of assignments I can understand that they may have just forgotten about it or couldn't make it. It's only $10, don't wanna risk getting anyone in trouble for it.

I`ve signed up for at least 70 survey sites since late summer.
havnt got invites from all of them yet but i have made approx. 50$.
might as well sign up for them, you wont get rich but you will get some cash along the way most likely a little at-a-time unless you luck out.
i usually opt out of the ones that enter you in drawings(chances are slim) and i make sure i take the ones which offer cash, they always tell you what they are offering before each survey.
global test market and gozing are the ones so far that have paid me cash.
since most of the survey sights havnt sent me one yet(many only send 2or3 a year) i dont know what they are like but will keep you all up to date as much as i can as i get the invites.
go for it, it`s alot of work to sign up for them but once your there you just wait for them to invite you.(some are quite interesting)
REMEMBER no matter what you see in some ads you WILL NOT MAKE TONS OF MONEY with this but i`m very sure you can cash in for a couple of hundred bucks over a few years.

I got an email from Global Test Market
"Dear.....,
As a valued AIR MILES® Collector, we are pleased to invite you to become an exclusive member of a new online Collector panel that provides Collectors like yourself with opportunities to participate in a range of optional surveys on a variety of topics and from organizations that are interested in your opinions.
You have been selected and invited to enroll in this new online Collector panel as a result of your previous enrollment and participation in the joint AIR MILES® Reward Program and Global Test Market online survey panel, which ends as of December 31, 2004.
You should receive your personal invitation to register in the near future. This is only being offered to a select group of Collectors. To take advantage of this invitation, please stay tuned for an e-mail from support@airmilesonlinepanel.com."
Look like they're selecting people for their new, hopefully better survey panel.
I hope they will offer cash this time instead of just Air Miles.

I can't vouch for all the canadian sites because I live in the US and can't register with them. But all the ones for the US and the international sites I signed up with seem legit. Some pay better than others and some only pay in contest entries. A few of the best are surveysavvy and NFO Mysurvey. The pay you the most and send the most survey invitations.
If you don't believe it here is a check I just received in the mail two days ago.
http://my.webpicturebook.com/surveysavvy.bmp
I took me a couple of months of doing surveys to earn this check but it was worth it.
Research companies are legit and the money they pay panelists is peanuts compared to the money their getting paid from big corporations that need their products and services evaluated.
Hope the info helps, good luck.

gozing annoys me.
they send quite a bit of surveys lately, but they are all $1 surveys, pretty much. but that's not the annoying part. i will finish the survey until the end when it's supposed to "register" with gozing that i completed it, then it will have some message about an internal error or something. i don't think i got the credit.
also, i notice that a few times i will have finished doing a survey and it won't show up as a completed survey in my payments section....even weeks after i've finished it.
ur not the only 1...
their survey reward values have gone down to $1 that i've decided to just stop doin them.

I guess I'll do a shameless plug.
I work for a Market Research company called Consumer Vision located at Bay and Bloor right on Yorkville. We also have a location at Yonge and Eglington as well. We hold Market Research Focus Groups on topics ranging from Orange Juice to Sexual Dysfunction. Respondants come down, discuss a topic, maybe watch a new commercial or whatnot etc for so and so time. No attempts are made to try to sell you anything, strictly for research. You're always paid in cash at the end of the group, you're paid on average $40-150 per hour, depending on the group.
http://www.consumervision.on.ca is our website. We have like, 10,000 people in our database and we're always looking for more. :P If you guys are interested, I can either sign you guys up directly over the phone when I'm working (Weds), or you can just call in at 416-967-1596 and say extention 236 and say you'd like to register. Here's another one: Globaltestmarket (http://www.globaltestmarket.com) I've been a member for over a year and have done over 15 surveys for them. Surveys are paid in points, each point is worth 5 cents US, and you can only redeem your points once you've accumulated 1000 points.
Their surveys average from 50-80 points, with the IT ones often worth 120-200 points. I've done some retail ones for 120 points too. Lately they've been sending me 30 point ones, so I wonder if it's a trend.

I just got an invitation from Air Miles Online Panel to do the survey for 10 Air Miles:
You may need invitation to sign up:
https://www.airmilesonlinepanel.com/
I completed 2 surveys for Asking Canadians to get HBC points, one survey for 1000 pts and one for 4000 pts. Someone posted about this panel long time ago but I can't find the thread. At the end of the survey, they give you the option to sign up other family members to do survey to get more points.

Yeah, I signed up for the Asking Canadians panels about 2 weeks ago, and got those 2 survey invitations within a couple days. Don't have the points yet, but I'm sure they'll be posted soon enough.

Do they mail you the check if you do the surveys or do they deposit it into your bank account.
If they do deposit, I need to open a bank account. Does anybody know if CIBC or BMO can open accounts for free and what not. ( Sry, I have no idea on these kinds of things )

Get paid for taking online paid surveys but you should not pay, they have to pay for your work at home job.Do not forget it! some paid survey list providers ask money as a membership fee some not. usually free list providers make money with advertisement not by membership fees. but some sites sell same paid survey lists. I just searched the Internet and found Free Paid Survey Sites like: http://www.paidsurvey.iwarp.com
I found other free directories in this site. another similar site like:
http://www.paidsurvey.atspace.com
that I just saw around 600 paid survey companies there for free. another one like:http://www.paidsurvey.b0x.com
there is not so much money in paid surveys and you have to know it first. NEVER PAY FOR SURVEYS OR A LIST THEY ARE REAL SCAM. use another Email instead of your primary Email address because you may get SPAMED.

also try www.webperspectives.ca
I can vouch for webperspectives..although most of their surveys are for free and only give you a chance to win $, they do have ones where you can get $5-10 for completing a 15 minute survey..they pay by cheque usually within 4-6 weeks as well...

This company is legit!
They are based in Canada and I do some of work for them.
I wouldn't list them under "surveys" as they are a "mystery shopping" company.
Working for/with them is almost a full-time job and not done that easily.
You usually have a ton of reading, have to go visit a location/store or whatever and then submit a report online .
I am not too sure they'd be happy to find out they are on a "freebies" board as they are a serious company!
If you're looking for a part-time income I'd recomend them. For a "fun and easy" survey I'd pass on them!

I'm registered to many of these survey companies and they just don't show up with any new stuff, i was paid $5.00 once by only one company. They do keep sending emails but only to register to new companies and the hot deal with most of them is, answer their survey's and you are entered in a draw, where is the big bucks, none i guess...lol
Good luck to you all if you can find a real survey that really pay's out money.

Hello, I am new here to this forum, so I want to say 'hello' to all of you. I am really glad to be here with so many other Canadians. It has taken me quite some time to find a forum like this. Most others are typically for US members, and sometimes it is hard to feel like you fit in. Anyway, I don't know if I am in the right place to be asking this, but I sure hope I am. If not, please forgive my newbie ways. I am wondering if anyone has yet located the Canadian Pinecone banner? I have been looking high and low for so long, I have now decided to just go ahead and ask. I guess I'm getting a little tired of the whole, 'googling' thing, as it has just gotten to be to much for me. I have had no problem finding the US one, but the Canada one has been very tough. Anyway, I know it is against the rules to post the Pinecone link, but if someone could PM me with it (if they have it) I would sure appreciate it. I'll do the same as well if I happen to locate it first, (to any one that requests it). Thanx, everyone, and I look forward to a 'virtual' meet with you all. ;)

Opinion Outpost needs a minimum of 50 points, which is 5 dollars

I have always been paid in CASH, either 5 or 10$ bills in the mail. It's the fastest and most reliable site so far.

It's awesome and i know a ton of people who have gotten loads of stuff from them! I signed up about a month ago and now have 3432 points, enough to cash in for lots of stuff:
www.pigsback.ca
You also get 500 points (which is enough for a $5 Tim Horton's gc or pens or a few other things) for each referral by providing their first, last name and email.

Do you have a Pinecone referral??? :D
Angusreidforum.com is my favorite paid survey; it has the the cleanest and easiest layout. They have infrequent invitations; they seem to use a random sample for their surveys, especially since they also track voting preferences during provincial/federal elections. Like GTM, you need $50 min. to cash out, but wheras I'm almost received my 2nd $50 with them, I'm still $10 from my first $50 with Angus Reid over the same period.

I find these paid online surveys all pay so little & it takes forever to accumulate anything (although yes, it is more convenient that they can be done @ all hours!). Without meaning to hijack the thread, anyone know of reputable marketing research companies in the Toronto area to sign up for - the kind that call you up to attend a 1 hr survey & pay $50-75 dollars?

I just don't do those survey invitations. Web Perspectives got the hint and began sending me more paid surveys... :D
If you qualify and complete a survey, you often have a chance for follow-up surveys to see if your preferences have changed over time. I noticed this with surveys for snow tires and alcohol. They keep sending the same survey every 3-4 months or so.
I won't give them my identity to them to get a couple bucks.Be careful about ID theft.
The survey sites I visit have been well regarded or recommended by other RFDers. (Check other paid survey threads on RFD) I started doing online surveys reading through these/those threads and I don't recall anyone complaining about ID theft.

From Globaltestmarket. Last time when I claimed 1000 points, I got a $50 CAD cheque, less postage. This time, they seem to have given me $50 USD, adjusted to CAD.

My suggestions:
*Respond to surveys ASAP. You can't do a survey if your age group/income bracket/consumer preference/etc. has already reached its quota.
*Update your profile surveys. When I changed my profile from "student" to "employed full-time" I've received many more surveys over the past few months.
I received another $7 cheque from SurveyLion on Monday.

So what are the top or best survey companies to go with? This is pretty interesting!
My Top 3, as I've actually been paid by them.....
Globaltestmarket - Made $100+ from them over the past year and a half. You can only cash out after 1000 marketpoints (i.e., $50), with the average survey btw 50-75 points. You get 5-10 points even if you don't qualify for the survey.
Web Perspectives - Earned $60-$80 over that same time span in my Paypal account. You can also cash out for Indigo or MSN/Bell Sympatico music e-coupons. Starting next week, they'll be using a points-based system comme Globaltestmarket, but their system is more generous so you can cash out after 2-3 surveys. (i.e., $1 = 100 points, the avg. survey is worth 3-500 points, and you can only cash out after 1000 points or $10)
SurveyLion - made $20 in the past 6 months. You can request for a cheque immediately after each survey for any amount.
Angus Reid Forum has the easiest surveys to do. Been a $5 survey short of requesting a $50 cheque for a number of months now. Their surveys are very infrequent.
N.B... I accumulated all that w/o any referral bonuses. They only give out bonuses when your referrals actually complete surveys - my friends just never ended up doing so...:o

It would be useful to me if the OP was updated to break it down further what 'paid' means. I signed up for a couple of the 'Confirmed ones" but so far all I've been offered was 'sweepstakes entries' for doing surveys on them, which I consider to be completely worthless 'payments'.
Then I looked at another site on the confirmed list and their site just says they give you 'incentives' for doing surveys, which I suppose means signing-up would just offer me more worthless sweepstakes entries in exchange for doing surveys.
Seeing the OP updated with all the specific rewards the sites give would be amazing. Most importantly, which sites use the word 'paid' in it's literal sense and pay out cash money.

I was wondering if anyone else had any problems with Global Test market. I did a survey the other day and was 93% complete when it said that the survey was full so I didn't get my points. I contacted them and they said that I likely didn't use the right products to qualify. I went through all those questions and I was clearly completing the survey, rating the products I used and rating potential packaging and product concepts. This is the first time this has happened but I hope it is not something that they do regularly or I won't bother with them anymore.

That happened to me too ... with Web Perspectives. I was so annoyed that I sent them an email asking about it. I didnt get a response. When it happened a 2nd time I re-sent the email. I received a standard response saying "you did not qualify" (that was NOT my point). When it happened the 3rd time, I emailed them to remove me from their mailing list ... they didnt. Needless to say, I am finding Web Perspectives LESS THAN IMPRESSIVE.:(

I like Daily Survey Panel and Legerweb the best

Cashcrate isn't too bad - it'd be a whole lot better if Canadians got the number of offers that those in the U.S. get - if you're in the U.S., you can make some good money - but if you're in Canada, you pretty much have to build up a good referral base

I cash out after every completed survey at SurveyLion, since there's no minimum dollar requirement to do so These sites always have the chance of closing down and/or changing their cash out requirements... so I'd rather get many smaller cheques on a frequent basis, rather than pooling them together.

Opinion Outpost - $10 USD

For the following, I am debating if I should cash our or hold out for a bit:
WebPerspectives - $10
Researchbynet - $10
CreationsRewards - $10
Mypoints - 12000+ points (or the equivalent of USD $100 BR gift card)
Some of these do take long to earn enough for cash out but it is still something and it does add up.

FrogsGoMoo & Okafor50, if you haven't already done so, go up to post #287 by tvwatcher and sign up for pinecone. It's the survey company everybody wants to join.
AngusReid is one I like. You need to fill out their surveys fairly quickly or their quota is filled and you are out of luck. They generally only pay $1 or $2 per survey but they aren't usually too painful. It accumulates in an account and then you cash out at $25 or $50? I can't remember. I'd be happy to refer you as I think that they are paying $1 per referral right now. Or you can just google it and sign up on your own, I'm fairly sure they allow that.
I think your best bet is to sign up for a few reputable survey companies and add more as you learn who is legit, who is not, who pays, who does not. Some companies may have more surveys for your demographic than others as well - some send me surveys all the time, some rarely. The only way that I know to find this out is to sign up. If it doesn't work out after a while, move on. Most of these companies expect you to do screening surveys for free and other surveys might be for nothing more than a sweepstakes entry. The only time that I find the whole survey game worthwhile is when I can do them while doing other things. Otherwise, it can be very time-consuming with minimal payback.
Check out the list in the 1st post for a few confirmed companies - there are more scattered throughout this thread, but that's a good place to start. Good luck! If you have any questions, just ask. Hope this helps. Holy long post!

Some tips:
I used to love Web Perspectives - I made maybe $60-$80 with them in PayPal payments over a 1 or 1 1/2 year span. At the beginning of the year, they finally created A)personalized logins and B) a points system, and I've only made $10 from them in 2009. Yesterday, I discovered that they have a number of new profile surveys, but they didn't notify me about them. Now that I've filled them out completely, I hope there will be more paid survey invites from them. So yeah, make sure you check your accounts regularly to see if new profile surveys are available.
With Pinecone, complete that membership agreement. I signed up months ago and never received a survey invite. I went through my inbox and realized I needed to complete that membership agreement before they would start sending those invites.

There was this email listing some of its member policies... at the end there was a box where you had to type "I AGREE" to the terms and conditions.
Hopefully I will now be getting some survey invites.

So far I get the most surveys from Global Test Market. I joined the end of January, cashed out $50 US on June 26 and received a cheque for $53.20 Cdn on July 29. I did have some dud surveys where I completed 95% of the survey and was disqualified. Apparently that is an issue with that particular survey company.

Opinion Outpost is the parent or brother company of one of the other more popular survey companies around. If you have an A/C at OO and its brother/parent company it may void both A/Cs as they only allow you to be on one survey site under that brand umbrella.

I signed up to Opinion Outpost the other day - during the process they recognized my email address, even though I had never applied to the site before. I figured it's owned by the same company as one of my other survey sites - not sure which one though. Opinion Outpost showed a warning message that multiple accounts would be voided. So I immediately cancelled my Opinion Oupost account; don't want it to mess up with one of my regularly paying surveys.

Yeah, the first couple weeks suck because they don't send you much but after you get that barrier you'll get a barrage of surveys, trust me you'll want them to stop!! Mine usually average 25 points but can range anywhere from 10 to 70 points ($1-$7). 70 is the highest i've gotten.

So i got my first survery today, answered a bunch of questions and then they said i didn't qualify for the survey. I wonder what they are looking for? For example, they asked do you read Cosmo magazine? Some of the answers were yes, i have a subscription, no, no i use to, yes i do i buy at the store, etc. I just wonder what do they want so i can qualify?! I answer honestly but maybe they want someone with a lot of answers? Well hopefully i'll get some more in! I also signed on with global marketing. They had pretty much the same questions as OO with those mini personal surveys but weren't as long.

I also love Surveyhead - I've cashed out for a total of $58, and as of this morning I have almost $40 pending, waiting to clear

Did anyone else get a really easy set of surveys on the Rogers Cup? Got 80 or 100 points on GTM; for survey 1 all I did was say I was a tennis fan; in survey 2, all I did was answer some very easy responses about Tuesday's tennis broadcast on TSN. I think the two surveys combined only took 5 mins.

I got the first survey, did it but when I went to do the second survey it did not work. I sent a message to GTM but they responded that there was a problem with the survey. I tried again but it was closed. That would have put me close to cashing out again.

pretty sure there's a small fee if you have the funds transfered from paypal to your bank account... also the webperspective funds will be removed from your paypal account if they aren't used within around 30 days. (lost $10 that way! so make sure your email address is connected to your paypal account!)

Do they state that in some disclaimer or fine print?
Cuz I know one of the other survey companies (which mails out cheques) has an "expiry date" for cashing it at the bank. Stated right on the cheque itself.

I think you either misunderstood, or you didn't state this properly - they can't take the money back if you don't use it withing 30 days - but then you stated to make sure your email address is connected to your paypal account - so maybe what happened is the email address you used wasn't connected to your paypal account, so the money was unclaimed for 30 days, and was then returned to the sender.
Is that what happened?

A while ago an admin from RedFlagDeals posted a link to a survey from the site survey.redflagdeals.com. But some people were saying this site isn't actually affiliated with RFD.
Does anyone know anything about this? Has anyone gotten a cheque fro them or know if they are legit?
Thanks :)
I did couple of surveys and was accepted in their target audience, however, they never pay! Some of their screens doesn't even have PAYPAL option to enter email.

I got my very first cheque of $8 from Opinion Outpost about a week ago. Yesterday, I went to BMO and handed my cheque to the BMO worker behind the counter and she told me there was a $5 fee since its a US cheque being deposited into a Canadian account. Luckily she waived that fee for me so I got my full $8US into my account. I got my money instantly. There was no faxing a letter or anything.

They've never charged a "processing fee" or anything like that.. even before the points system, when they handed out PP credit for each survey and not in $10 installments.
GTM used to charge postage when they mailed out their cheques. But now that they're paying out in USD and converting it to CAD (rather than paying CAD upfront)... it's hard to tell if a postage fee is "hidden" within the currency conversion.

You can only sign up for Pinecone when they have an open registration window... which could last btw 2 weeks to a month at a time. And you can't sign up directly on their site. You have to click on one of their banner or text ads during these registration windows. You just have to come up on one of these ads by chance while surfing the net.
There is a website that monitors whether Pinecone CAN/US/UK/etc. is open for registration, with a link to those banner ads. But even then, you'll need to visit her site daily to see if registration is open. That's how I signed up on to the Canadian Pinecone site.
Google "Annika + pinecone"... you can figure out the rest. Pinecone is really anal about its rules... so I don't want to link to that site directly.

I had 2x 200 points and one day they disappeared and so I look at my history and there's a bunch of sweepstakes entries (I don't ever do sweepstakes survey) but the next day the points went into my balance but the sweepstakes are still there.

that happened to me with a 500 point survey - the points went into pending right after I did the survey, then the next day they were gone - but a few weeks later they reappeared in the completed section, so it all worked out. I don't know why they went AWOL like that, but they did come back.

You have probably seen some of the surveys that we've posted occasionally in the past few months but now we've got something more organized working together with United Sample:
http://surveys.redflagdeals.com
It's ready for sign ups now and you get $5 US for signing up. When you hit $25 in earnings you can cash out. There should be at least one survey for you to take after you sign up, more in many cases but it depends on your demographics.
One of the issues that we had when were just posting it occasionally was that it was hard to track what surveys you completed, when it was completed, when you should be paid (note - they just paid everyone who had completed an RFD survey last night), etc. So some of the benefits with this system are:
- When you sign up for an account, balances will tracked by the system so you'll know exactly where you stand
- You can fill out your profile details a bit more right away and they'll pay you for that as well
- Surveys that show up in your dashboard will have a percentage estimate of whether you'll qualify for that survey
- You'll be notified automatically of new surveys as they're released that fit your profile
This is a new partnership for us, and we're hopeful that it'll have a steady stream of surveys soon. If you have feedback too, let me know.

pending as in the survey has to be reviewed before the points are added into your account; maybe ur answers didn't meet their req to be eligible and then they removed the pending points, easy as that

Survey Head is run by United Sample, which is the same company we're working with on Surveys.RedFlagDeals.com. Survey Head is for anyone to sign up, but Surveys.RedFlagDeals.com is specifically for Canadians. Over time, you're going to see more differences (including more Canadian surveys on Surveys.RedFlagDeals.com), but right now the surveys should be the same because we're just starting out.
I'll check into the question about conflicts but if you did a specific survey on Survey Head or Surveys.RedFlagDeals.com you wouldn't be able to do the same survey on the other site, because that's be the same person, same results of course :)

Most are between 10-20 minutes. Occasionally there are longer 30-45 minute ones.
On a "busy" day I may get 3 surveys to complete... but I just do them in the background of whatever I'm doing on the computer, so time isn't an issue for me. Just make sure you complete the survey before the session times out.

Hi everyone, great thread...
I looked up some survey sites I might be interested in on Survey Police.
Lately, Ipsos I-Say has been getting some really negative feedback. It\s a shame b/c I thought their surveys might actually be interesting. The comments were that the cashout button doesn't work, and it's a hassel dealing with customer service, and that the points offered per survey are extremely low. Does anyone have any experience with Ipsos I-say?
I was also wondering is anyone could provide their opinion of Canada Talk Now, Public Opinon, and Ledger Webs... please and thank you :)
I am signed up for RFD surveys, but as I've posted in previous threads, have been having issues. I have made some money, however. 7 USD (on top of sign up credits) since 26 Oct.
