I remember like 7 years ago with my ex we went to Eaton Center to watch this miserable piece of ****. After 10 minutes we left and went to watch something else which I can't remember so it couldn't have been much better.

It was just another sci fi. I enjoyed it, when watching on tv, nothing special, good time waster ... that about it.

I find it hilarious some of the stuff they did to make it seem like it was futuristic. Like how all the cigarettes were like 70% filter.
And they made the president black, man that was (I thought) an amusing jab. I can imagine them sitting around thinking about it
writer1: hmmm...so how can we make it look like the future?
writer2: i know! make the president black!

Well every white girl have a black man and look around you'll certainly see alot of mixed kids so in the future seeing a white president might be a little far fetched in the future and an Asian president is just as possible but the hollywood community just not ready for that one.
Its an ok movie.

And how do you know they specifically made the president black to be more 'futuristic', rather than simply because he was better for the role? And black presidents in hollywood isn't a new thing or solely for 'futuristic' movies. Does Deep Impact and 24 ring any bells for you?

I found this movie to be pretty amazing!! It's on my top 10 list of best movies. Extremely well done and could be ahead of its time. I was watching it yesterday as I was browsing channels. Saw it way too many times though.

Me too. Although I can't say it is my top 10 (that needs some thinking), this is one of those that I can give a score above 75 out of 100.

Man I can't believe someone would put this as a top 10 movie on their list. No offence to black people out there but Chris Tucker needs to be hanged and cremated so that no one has to deal with his annoying voice and terrible acting ever again. He completely ruined the movie for me. The movie would be okay if Chris Tucker wasn't in it, but since he is, the movie rates below Battlefield Earth.
No where near top 100 movies.
here are a few movies that should be in everyone's top 10
LOTR fellowship, two Towers, ROTK, Star Wars ep 2, 4, 5, 6, Troy, Gladiator, Terminator 2, Matrix, Matrix revolutions, Braveheart, Bourne Identity, Saving Private Ryan, shrek, Rambo first blood, predator (1 only)
platoon, Final Fantasy spirit within (wow cool graphics),
I will not list spiderman, cos personally I felt it sucked, nor will I list Titanic because I have never watched it, nor will I ever watch it.

Hey Dude, it's all subjective. I liked it, I thought it was fun, inventive, bizzarre, different, and most of all, entertaining. Chris Tucker was annoying yes, but the movie was very good otherwise.
In general the movie was positively reviewed. (71% on the tomatometer) http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/fifth_element/

I dont know, I was just speculating. It was meant to be funny, a jab at how some people picture the world. I'm sorry if it offended you

Just google for the synopsis, ya lazy bum!
With a deadly race of aliens ready to destroy Earth, a second race, allied with the humans, send a young girl, Leeloo (Jovovich), who is the fifth element, or supreme being. Her goal is to retrieve four stones and activate them in a temple in Egypt to save Earth from destruction.
Unfortunately things don't go smoothly and she requires the help of a number of humans, namely a priest (Holm) and a cab driver / ex-military expert, Korben Dallas (Willis). Others, such as Mr. Zorg (Oldman) and an army of alien shape-shifting mercenaries are also interested in the stones and the race to find them begins.

Well hey, thanks for telling us what movis we should watch. And thank you for putting those suckfests Revolutions and Final Fantasy on all our "must watch and love" lists.
I'd definitely rate 5th Element as being 100x better than either of those, but, it's all subjective, so I'm not about to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't watch. Watching them (Revolutions & Final Fantasy) once was more than enough, while I've watched and enjoyed 5th Element multiple times (Superbit edition is great for showing off your TVs capabilities, with all the fast, bright colours everywhere)
