View Full Version : Suggestion for a chatroom plugin for this board.

I've seen on other forums where they have a small little chatroom type of plugin for registered users. Just one main chatroom with no private rooms. Sites like a http://www.thecomputermechanics.com for example. thought it would be a neat little feature for this community. People can come in say their good mornings, goodnights or just do a nice and clean rant to get something off their chest. This has to be something clean of course because it would be real time in a way. Any thoughts on this suggestion??

Hell no!!!! I've spent enough time in RFD each day. The last thing I want is another neat feature that'll make me spend more time here. :D

It's a neat idea, but it will get filled up with LFs and FSs...

It's a neat idea, but it will get filled up with LFs and FSs...


They could make the chatroom in the General Section only. No BST allowed in the chatroom.

That would only work if it was moderated. I doubt any mod is going to sign up for that.

Seeing as it'll be unmoderated I'd expect it to get pretty ugly in there.

Probably like the suggestion of a flaming forum, anything goes forum. ;)

Yeah, I don't think there will ever be an official chatroom for this site just because of the modding issues.

i'm on TCM as well and i've never used that chatroom plugin at all....but i can see how it can be a good idea....
however i voted undecided...! ahahha

hehe ... i actually think it would be a cool idea .... u dont have to use it, but it could lead to good things !

I think the pepsipod thread should be a chatroom. Would your entries count against your post count?
