I liked it I guess but the whole creature thing is pretty silly. and seeing Greg Grunberg again as the pilot scared me, talk about being in 2 too many of Abram's series.

yes, he was Vaughn's partner in Alias right?
Do you remember what show he was in before Alias?

I'm very curious to see what the monster is supposed to be. Who knows if they'll even show it at all. Maybe it'll be a surprise for the last episode... but I'm hoping it'll be like Maris on Frasier.

About the monsters: they must be pretty huge as they make big thumping noises when they walk, just like the dinosaurs from the movie Jurassic Park do. My theory is maybe the plane went through some space/time temporal anomaly causing it to not only crash but travel back in time to when there were dinosaurs. If that is the case, boy are they really lost.

I actually really liked the show, especially for a show put out by ABC. As for Greg Grunberg, I think he was maybe in it as a joke, I mean seeing how he was in Felicity and Alias, maybe he has a deal to be in every Abram's series even if it is for only five minutes.

Good show. Not too sure about the "monster" thing, but the show has a lot of potential and I can't wait to see where they take it. Lot's of good actors as well (Terry O' Quinn was a nice surprise - I was a Harsh Realm fan).

saw the premiere...it was alright, but it didnt blow my mind

when the monster appeared, i was like, "this better not be a dinosaur...cause if it is, i m switching the channel"

i like the time portal idea. I was thinking myself that it's some sort of alien abduction to an experiment kinda thing...but its all up in the air

Be a dinosaur, be a dinosaur lol - wouldn't bother me if it was better than some of the alternatives

yeah I agree it does sound silly, especially since we don't even know what "it" is...and probably won't until the end of the season either! For now they're just going to run away from this imaginery thing that runs through the jungle making a hideous sound.

but honestly as soon as I heard the creature's howl, I immediately thought that the show was made by Stephen King, it seems right up his alley

will he be staying dead in the series or will he some how miraculously re-appear?

I had it PVR'ed and got around to watching it tonight. Solid pilot, but I'm not sure if it will find an audience yet or not. Reminded me a lot of Jurassic Park, although I guess with the success that had that might not be so bad after all. I was hoping for more of a survival kind of show, like how they survive, how characters and relationships develop, that kinda thing rather than some freaky monster type stuff. Oh well, we'll see where the next episode goes.

It was a one-shot deal for Greg Grunberg - besides, he was eaten up pretty badly.

The show was ridiculous right from the beginning. A jet engine running on its own? Running at a high enough setting to suck someone into it, yet it was't moving? WTF?

I was disappointed.

frogger

Really the whole premise of the show is pretty ridiculous, the plane would be in a million pieces, there would not be large sections of it intact like the cockpit, the working jet engine (the most hilarious part). There would not be survivors, all easily walking around. Matthew Fox's character wouldn't be the only guy trying to help people without being asked. But it sure looked great in HD, pretty high budget stuff (well if they showed a realistic looking moster, then it would have to be REALLY high budget). Its high budget enough that I doubt it will last unless it does quite well in the ratings.

He would hold the monster over for quite a while, but not as long as the guy assigned to helping the pregnant woman.

what was the pregnant woman even doing on the plane?? Aren't you not allowed to fly when you're THAT pregnant?

I think once you are over 7 and a half months pregnant a lot of airlines won't let you on for fear of premature labour.

Oh well Kate's in a bikini next week

I found it WEIRD no one was crying about the loss of their loved ones; I mean, I know they're in shock, but c'mon. A little bit of reality here.

I too suspect it is a time portal thing that happened.

Matthew [who played Charlie on 'Party of 5' show] is a decent actor.

It didn't have a good plot though.

Nor did Dr. Vegas, for that matter. But I think Dr. Vegas with Rob Lowe will get better as time goes on.

yeah you're right about that...especially the lady who's husband was found locked in the bathroom, in the flashback it seemed that she was so dependent on him (the way she was talking about him), but she looked fine on the beach without him

Convict girl will of course, have 'her reasons' for doing 'what she did' [whatever that might be.] She will be made out to be a goody-2-shoes, as she is already, who had to do what she had to do, and then she had to go down for it.

The white polar bear threw me for a loop; I was expecting a dinosaur. The 'looped' transmission was very eerie, but completely non-believable as the woman was speaking in a sexy voice, rather than scared/freaked out. {Insert roll-eyes icon here.} The brother/sister fighting duo are also not believeable; after a trauma like that, they'd have stuck together.

The Asian guy who used to be on the Angel show {Lila's nemesis who worked with her at Wolfram and Hart} is just pis*ing me off, he's so mean to his girlfriend/wife, etc.

That druggie band guy will have a hard time when his drugs run out.

The dog will be found alive, only he will be all weird, and not go to the poor boy, etc. The boy will really be sad about that.

The marshall will end up getting killed by the convict, who can't afford to have anyone know of her past.

These are all predictions/thoughts - NOT spoilers, because I am just saying it 'might' happen.

At least he did not try and sell the others his seafood (Which I really thought he was going to do since I thought he and his wife/girlfriend were tring to be separate from the rest of the group and he would not let her have any of the food).

so far I agree with your predictions....I'm not really liking the Kate chick because she does seem to be made into a good-2-shoes..it's annoying

I don't get the polar bear thing at all...I thought it could have been on the plane (as someone's cargo), but how could they fit that into the plane with all the luggage and whatnot? But then again this plane did let a very pregnant women fly, have some guy who managed to have drugs and a marshall carrying a weapon, so who knows!

Planes will always let a Marshall carry his gun on the plane.

There was an article in this week's Toronto Star about some Russian lady who flew back to Toronto to have her baby.. due next week.

I see...well that's a little pointless is it not? They couldn't possibly use it up in an aircraft as it may puncture the vessel..

depending on the caliber of the gun and the skill of the Marshall, the bullet won't penetrate the target. Besides, a single gunshot to a window won't cause the whole plane to depressurize and blow up like on TV.

A few weeks back on the tv show Mythbusters, they tested out the myth that a single gunshot could cause the whole window to blow open. Pretty neat episode. Shooting a bullet through the hole did cause some depressurization but not enough to do any damage. They got frustrated so they added some explosives to the window and blew it out. That was fun to watch.

That's a good question - I was wondering the same thing...I guess it could have fallen out in the crash? But they never made it clear if his father's body ever made it on the plane. By why ship an empty coffin home?

every episode brings new unanswered questions .......and i figure lots of people aren't going to be happy with the answers when they reveal them.

can this show go on for 4-5 seasons without answering some questions.

they are pretty much stuck on the island .....

is it possible they aren't in the year 2004 or some alternative earth ?
