a friend tried it..said it sucks.
new restaurant, staffs r new and not well trained, and too much advertisement to bring too much customers, which they can't handle.
super slow service my friend said.
he said hte waiter who's bring out the dish keep forgeting which table should he go to, end up walking around the whole restaurant asking everyone if they order the dish.
whne the dish get to my friend, it was cold already.

and for those who r non-chinese, it's a "hong kong style western food" restaurant and means they usually serve steak and fish and thigns with a sauce. (mushroom/black pepper sauce / gravy / cream sauce..etc)

have tried it. $20 for regular stuffs (like steak, lamb chop....) and $5 extra if you want special items (fresh oysters and others stuffs) they have pasta, fries, onion rings, chicken fingers, steaks, salmon steak, lamb chop, many items, free pops too........

food are average quality. it is not excellent but ok. service are good but slow (because there are a lot of people). but not cold as mention above..........however, because they came slow, i can take a little break and eat again! :) so i have tried the steak, lamb chop and chicken steak. i like the chicken and lamb steak!!

so, if you like steaks and can eat alot this is a good place for you. otherwise, if you can only eat one steak then you can find a better one with $20 in hand.

Eagerbeaver:

Heaven on Earth it is--419 Music Bar and steak Restaurant is located on the second floor in Commerce Gate Mall on Hwy #7 almost rigth accross Times Square on the south side of Hwy#7.

I have tried it twice and the first time the service was sooooooooooo slow I wanted to have a soccer game in between steaks. The second time was much better with a stek coming out every 20 minutes or so, and I played with my other food like appetizers and soup and salad while I waited for the steaks. I had 3 angus steaks and 1 lamb shoulder chops with two orders of chicken fingers and a french onion soup with the $1 lobster as well. It was a filling 4 clourse meal for me, and supplemented with all you can drink coke too.

Go give it a try and let me know how you feel. For $21 on weekend and $20 on week days you cannot beat it. Even though the waitresses are inexperienced and they keep on forgetting orders. : )

Their number is 905-709-4419, address is 505 Hwy#7, Unit 234.

Yes, if you chhose to pay $5 more you can have all you can eat from their special appetizer manu, and raw oysters is one of the items in that extra manu. Another dish I saw people ordering all the time was the shrimp cocktail. My favourite is the french snails(escargot)! YUmmy! :cheesygri Enjoy!

Oh, they open from 5PM to very late in the night, probably 1AM, because their live band performance starts at around 9 or 10PM.

Damn it! I was around that area today when I went out for dinner. I was in the mood for some steak and I remembered this post. Unfortunately, I didn't know where or what the place was called.

I ended up going to The Keg, and ordered their Baseball Sirloin... yumm. It was good, but too bad I didn't get AYCE.

I'll remember this for next time, though!

Dear All:

I went to 419 again tonight, and the $1 lobster deal is over, but everything else remains the same. I had 3 and a half Angus steaks, 2 and a half orders of chicken fingers, AYCD pop, and my goodness, my wife and I are both stuffed like those turkeys waiting to be put in the oven for Thanksgiving dinner. Tonight that place was packed, so I recommend any one of you who likes to try it out to either reserve before going, or go early at 5 or 6PM!

they need to hire more staff.

i don't know why you guys complain about slow service at AYCE. I don't know of a single all you can eat type of restaurant that isn't slow. The Japanese AYCE are especially slow and small portions.

Well, service is indeed slow, but bearable, considering the food they serve and the price they charge. The tactics is to order a soup, an appetizer and one of the steaks at the same time so the food will keep coming for you. As soon as you get done with any one of them then you order another to avoid lapse in between dishes. I timed the steaks coming to our table last Saturday when it was a full house, and it took about 20 minutes. You are allowed 2 hours there from the time you sit down, and you can easily order 5 to 6 steaks in those two hours, not to mention other dishes like salads, mussels, pastas, chicken fingers, french onion soup, desserts, etc. The key is to order as much as they allow you each time and keep the food arriving at your table. I have tried their black peppercorn steak, lamb shoulder chops and Angus, and they were all quite good. For $20.99 plus taxes and tips it is still a steal in town. They only have 4 waitresses serving about 90 to 100 customers when the place is filled, but their 3 bus boys are quite efficient coming in and out of the kitchen. I think they need to have a bigger kitchen though. The slowest service we got from them was the all you can drink soft drinks, becasue they give you very small glasses(like two mouthfuls) and refills are inevitable, but they come very slooooooooooooooooowly. Be prepared to eat with thirst!

Personally I still give them 7 out of 10 for the food, but 3 out of 10 for the service. :cheesygri

The lobster deal is over any way, and it is okay if you do not eat steak, because they still have salmon steak, chicken fingers, fried wings, 8 types of pastas, 3 types of salads, couple types of soups, and a bunch of appetizers too like freied mushrooms, beef and chicken satay-kebob, 4 types of mussels, which I cannot recall all of them since I usually concentrate my efforts with the steaks. They do not have a website yet last time I checked because they just opened for business for a about a month.

Degererate:

I believe their chicken fingers are made from chicken breasts. I always have 2 to 3 orders of that on top of my Angus steaks so it tells you how good they are. Sorry, no chicken steaks nor Chicken breasts--just chicken fingers and deep fried chicken wings. The beef satay we tried was not bad at all. We did not try the chicken satay because we already got 3 orders of chicken fingers.

I checked this place is out last night, and it was awesome. Had soup, salad, 2 steaks, 1 salmon, unlimited shrimp, escargot, musils, desert. Service was a little slow, although we did have 8 people. But I recommend this place spent about $33 per person with tax and tip.

went satnight
thankfully no band
they had a 2 hour seat limit and for the last 30-45 minutes service was nonexistant, menaing i couldn;t get a coke( was realy PC cola) for the life of me. Cheese cake was frozen steak was tasteless, kebabs chicken strips was good , their idea of french onion soup is to put garlic bread and cheese on a bun inside some beef broth with onions.

Would do it again , but would have everyone their before we went inside.
20.99 they have a $5 addidional menu with other stuff on it.

It will take a lot longer if you go there on HWY #7 from Brampton. Why do you not take 410 and go down to 401 and go East bound all the way to 404 and exit North bound to Hwy #7 instead. The Commerce Gate Mall is almost directly across Times Square on the south side of Hwy#7.

My colleagues tried and they said they will never go back again ... coz the food was suck.

I'm not sure if that's true or not but mostly I will take the words.

They will tell you when it is your last call, usually about 25 to 30 minutes before your 2 hours limit is up. The first time I went they actually handed us the bill even when we were still having our food, but it was on a Saturday, and the place was packed. If you go with a bunch of people make sure you wait till everyone is there before sitting down, because once some of you sit down that is when they start the timing clock--we suffered from that the very first time went.

Went on Saturday night...place was fully booked. Make sure you have reservations.

I'd go again...taste was average and service wasn't that slow.

Between two people, we had: ceasar salad, potato and seafood salad, french onion soup, chicken fingers (would have been excellent with a dipping sauce), chicken wings, mussels with tomato sauce, mussels with white wine sauce (we loved the mussels and you got quite a plateful), beef satay, 2 orders of mushrooms with garlic sauce. For our mains, we tried their 419 steak, grilled NY steak and the grilled salmon. For dessert, there was no cheesecake that night so had a blueberry mousse cake and their egg pudding (don't try this it was the worst of everything we tried...not custardy, more gelatin-like)

We got the last call for our mains after 1 hour and 10 minutes. Does anyone know if the last call is for appetizers as well as mains? Not that we minded cause we couldn't eat anymore anyways.

I went there in a weekday. We reserved the table but the place was empty anyway. We were the first customer. I don't like its 'comfy' sofa. It is hard to eat sitting on those sofa. The place is reasonable. Okay music. A bit dark but okay. I think it is a bit pricey because I did not eat enough. I was in bad mood that night (nothing to do with the restaurant).

AYCE steak ????? that's crazy man ... there's only so much red meat anyone can take. I get grossed out after staying too long at Korean BBQ, and they serve the paper thin stripped steak meat.

yes they do tell your time for the "last call" when your time limit is up...

i didn't particularly like the food. I thought all the steaks (no matter what sauce) all tasted the same...

besides, how much can you eat when you're sunken in the sofa and you have trouble cutting up your food?

if you want steak, go back to your fav steakhouse...
