Default Are appliances ever marked down?

I'm hoping to pick up a new washer/dryer.. it'd be nice to get a 5-10% off deal on them. Anyone have any experience with appliances getting marked down on Boxing Day / Week?

I just bought a Kenmore series 600 washer for 547 with tax and delivery (marked down from 799 + tax) at the Sears Outlet (near 404 and Donmills). Currently they have 15% off if u buy one piece and 20% off if you buy 2 piece. Some are displays and some are new in box.

You might be able to PM and haggle but not heavy Boxing Day sales.

I can't speak for washers or dryers, but last year I got an absolutely awesome GE dishwasher from Future Shop for $279--fully electronic, extra quiet, etc. After Boxing Week it went back up to $429. Keep your eyes open, and you don't know what you'll find! Good luck!

I got a fridge and stove at future shop last boxing day for $600 for both, so you can definately get good deals, it just might not be on the specific model you want

The general markup on most appliances is around 25%. Thus most places if you haggle enough will eventually give you 20% off the MSRP.

From my experience, go to places like Tasco, Caplans, Quans or Appliance Canada to get the best quote. It will usually be better than any advertised Boxing Day price. Like the above poster says, you can get something like 20-25% off MSRP with haggling.

Sears has started a lot of their appliance boxing day prices today - all National Brand Appliances (Kitchenaid, Frigidaire, GE, Maytag, LG, Whirlpool ) on sale at 10% off the regular price. This was supposed to start on the 26th but they've opted to start it early. Plus they have double club points on right now and a free gift card offer.

Sears also offers 10% the first purchase if you buy with their card, right? Can you stack the discounts?

I'm not sure where your located but here in montreal we have a Kitchenaid warehouse. Twice a year (October and April I think) they have this crazy sale on remanufactured items. I bought a Kitchenaid dishwasher and stove, both saved almost $1500 compared to retail. I think they have warehouses in TO and Calgary. You have to check their Whirlpool site. They have a Stainless fridge I'm waiting to get in April for $1800, that I saw at FS and Sears for over $3000! Hope this helps some!

It sounds great.. I'm in Edmonton so I could make the trip down, but I'll probably stick around home.

I'm actually hoping to pick up the GE front-loading combo. The pedestals are free with it until Dec. 29, plus there's a $50 rebate available from the City of Edmonton. I figure if I can get them for 10-20% off, I'll do pretty good. Free pedestals works out to $350 off right off the bat.

Unfortunately, it's only $10 off your first purchase

Luckily.. I've been holding out for the big ticket items and have yet to take advantage of any store CC offers. I've check in with the stores next week to see what I can get!

Look at the Future Shop B-Day flyer posted on the Red Flag Deals Boxing Day flyer page. I saw at least 2 washer/dyer offers on the last couple of pages.
