Anyone else see the front page of the Toronto Sun this morning?

I'm at work. Saw it in the lunch room table, and holy crap, as soon as I saw it, flipped inside to the page where the story was, and I felt sick to my stomach seeing the neglect and abuse that chow dog has undergone. Thank goodness they're offering a $1k reward for information leading to the owner. I hope they find the bastard(s) who 'own' this Dog, and make them accountable.

If anyone hasn't seen it, go look at it. That has to be the worst looking condition Chow dog I have ever seen. My goodness, I hope that poor thing survives and at least gets a chance to feel and realize that there is even a little bit of caring in this world.

I saw it this morning at Dominions and the first thing that popped into my head was this is front page worthy?

Just saw the pic and description on CP24's website. Apparently the reward has already grown to $1500 now. Truly despicable but unfortunately the "owner" probably won't get too much in the way of punishment!

Why do people do this? If you can't take care of your dog for whatever reason, you can give it to the Humane Society. A purebred Chow Chow will be snapped up in no time. Ideally, people should think about all the work it takes to raise a dog BEFORE they get it to avoid this situation in the first place. I'm reminded of a thread created in OT a few weeks ago where the poster was wondering about his brother getting a Husky dog and raising it in a cramped apartment. This is the kind of thing that happens when people don't think things through. Poor dog. Hope he can make it.

How horrific...and you're right, the person responsible won't get his just punishment

I saw it and almost burst into tears Just thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes.

I have no idea how anyone with an ounce of caring could do that to a dog.

And of course, the first thing I think about is my puppy and how much love and energy we've poured into her upbringing.... and how innocent and defenceless they really are.

I'm actually kind of pissed..I didn't realise it was within the Humane Society's charter to be offering bounties to be hunting down people who abused animals..I donate time and money to them and do not think this is a good use of funds or what I think they are there for.

That $1000 can be used to help a lot of other animals, put a syringe in this dog and move on....
