Hi! I'm a mom who needs some help wondering what's best to get for my son, who is 18. He has an xbox360 elite. He's interested in Rock Band - and I think he's as confuddled as I am... so maybe someone on here can help me choose what to do! I'd appreciate any help you can give me!

Trying to decide between these on amazon.ca:
The Beatles Rock Band Special Value Edition 79.99
Rock Band 2 Special Edition 99.99

I do know it's not important for him to get the Beatles branded instruments...

I gather the instruments on the first one are Rock Band 1. He said it didn't make a difference to him whether they were wired or not (?), but I've read the drums are better with Rock Band 2.

If I get the Beatles edition above, can he use the Rock Band 2 game if I get it - it's only 19.99? (Rock band is over 43 on .ca, but only 19 on .com, grr..)

Any advice? Suggestions?
Thanks so much!

Edit: Beetles us RB1 inst.not 2... was thinking of something else

RB2 ins. are much better than the ones in RB1 and if you want to see the difference, try going to a few BB/FS as they have them on display (1 or the other), going to a few locations, you'll be able to see both sets. RB (varies versions) are always on demo.

Get the RB2SE over the BeatlesRBSE... it's not only wired vs. wireless instruments but also the quality of the instruments. I've read that the quality is much better with the RB2 instruments.

You could always wait when BB/FS has one of those random 10% off "selected" everything sales. I picked up RB2 Special Edition for $80 combined with that sale and a random $10 off coupon from the emails a while back. But another sale like that may not happen before Christmas...

It is strongly recommended you get the RB2 instruments instead of the RB1 ones though, it's a lot better quality. Also the drums are much quieter... well worth the extra $20.
