no but go read any raid guide and they say identical specs is recommended for storage/speed efficiency...no one who implements raid uses non-identical drives, if they did, well they aren't doing it right

yes it is, it has screw holes for 3.5" hdd and 5.25" dvd/cd drives

decided to keep my 2 x 60gb raid since i'll use it as boot drive (cheaper than going for WD Raptor)

i had a potential buyer but was concerned about noise, i did some testing, it doesnt have a high pitch noise, but when its seeking/reading/writing it does have noise...idle is a whirl noise...would have sold it too but i didnt want to give a refund option based on noise level since i know it works fine.
