Hi Guys,
We can support ATAs now, the process is manual and takes a couple emails back and forth and a phone call to get setup. We will have a signup page soon to ad functionality like this in near future.
The whole premise of the Freephoneline initiative is we engage corporate sponsors to pay your bills :-) [thats a good thing]
if you do not use our SIP client ... a big chunk of this revenue goes away.
So we have to cover your costs off by passing the fees off to you for setup and configuration. Basically we are a new phone company with our own facilities based network, that means with capital equipment we 'build' the network so we do not have large [and in some cases, any] ongoing monthly costs to build this network up. That is how we can make it sustainable.
Each account needs to cover off about $99 is you have your own ATA. We give you a SIP config you can load in your box and you are up and running with a freephoneline you don't have monthly fees for. You will still get some advertising you are encouraged to entertain. [this revenue helps us all have fantastic phones for no cost :-) ]
if you would like to buy a Linksys ATA from us, with configuration and your aggregate piece of network contribution... its $149. [$99+$49]
The ATA config has no "beta" testing portion to it, the SIP service is commercial grade and out of the box functionality.
If you would like to get setup, or have questions email us at support[at]freephoneline.ca.
Cheers,
