I tried hooking up my 360 to my router so I could use it along wit my computer as a Media Centre to watch videos but when I connect it using a standard CAT 6 cable I get nothing. Do I HAVE to have the cable made by XBox to link the two or does the 360 not accept CAT 6...I have a D-Link DI-614+ router that I'm tryin to connect it into...any help would be much appreciated

You don't need to use the xbox one, I know any Cat5 cable will work, but I am not sure about Cat6. I thought Cat6 was supposed to be fully backward compatible.
Have you had your xbox online at all before? Or is this the first time you are trying through your router. The xbox has a network config area where you can test it or change settings. |

No special cables required. I used whatever I had lying around.
Just go to configure network on the 360. You also have to install Media Sharing Center (I think that's what it's called) on your PC. Go to xbox.com for more help. |
