Default 22" monitor experts to give some opinions?

Any 22" monitor experts here can give me some suggestion on the following LCDs?

Acer 22" LCD Monitor (P223WAD)
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...094088&catid=#

LG 21.6" Widescreen LCD Monitor (L222WT-BF)
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0089669&catid=

Samsung 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor (226BW)
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...084230&catid=#

Or you can recommend any better 22" LCD below $300, thx!

I would go for the Samsung. The Acer is only good if you like the glossy screen look. But Samsung is the best overall.

So far 2 for Samsung.
Or is there any 22" that are better than these 3 and under $300?

Can I trust refurbs? Especially it's from CC, in which their return policy is crap?

I would spend the extra money and get a brand new one. The Samsung 226BW is at a really good price.

I've had the Acer AL2223W for about a year with no complaints, great with games, etc.

I spent a lot of time looking at 22" monitors too this year. After a lot of research, I bought the LG 226 from CanadaComputers. I lost the website links w/ the in-depth comparisons but I think TomsHardware did a round up 22" monitors. I think the LG 222 should use the same type of panel, but I'm not sure of that. Anyways, the LG 226 is is an amazing monitor, and it looks nice too.

1680x1050 on a 22" is way too low for the size of screen involved . Either look at a 1680x1050 20" display, or step up to a 1920x1200 display in 24" format. The 22" format is just a way to use lower quality panels.

There's nothing whatsoever wrong with 1680x1050 on a 22" monitor.

Yes the 22" size are all lower quality TN monitors but the 24" SIPS and MVA monitors can easily cost twice as much. Sure, if money is no problem 24" is the way to go.

Cool stuff!

Since LG226 and Samsung 226BW are the same price, does anyone know how they compare?

However the closest CC to me that carries LG226 is in Hamilton, so I'm leaning towards Samsung more. Does anyone know any coupons I can use in Futureshop to save more on the Samsung?

Much help would be greatly appreciated! Thx!

Here, from x-bit labs review:

"Compared with the L226WTQ, the Samsung (226BW) has a slightly higher response time and a less accurate setup of color temperature, but offers a lower level of RTC errors and somewhat better ergonomics. This monitor will suit people who want a home model for playing dynamic games. If your priority is color reproduction rather than speed, you may want to consider other models... "

They're both great monitors, even though the review seems "bad" from that paragraph alone, they were just being super picky and both monitors looked the best in the tests. Most people probably won't even be able to tell a difference. I only picked the LG because it was cheaper at the time and I liked its clean style more. I haven't looked back though

i own two Acers and I can tell you know that they are great and can be had for a very low price too. I picked up the pair for $450 now im running dual 22s across my desk, great stuff. of course you video card must have dual link DVI or else it'll all be for naught. but yes, i love my acers.
