http://www.dfsdirect.ca/Merchan....Code=HD

They're back, saw 190 this morning.

Update: ordered up three on Dec 21st and arrived just recently, two are in good condition, one stood out from the others and was suprisingly *excellent*.  One was missing a SVGA cable.

They come by purolator, and DFS seems to give a slight shipping break if you order more than one.  Purolator can ship up to 4 items under one waybill.

Since there seems to be an unending supply of these things and the initial rush to buy, not to mention Xmas, is over, what are the odds that the price will come down on these monster monitors in the near future?

More likely the arrival of these monitors follows the Nortel layoffs.

#### you guys are fast.  All gone again.

I'm pretty sure these are from Nortel, the one that someone got that still had a "Nortel administrator sticker" was a big tipoff.

Anyone had any experience with the 19inch monitors? I know people have had "problems" with the 21inch.

It looks like someone probably did put all of them in their basket, its back again.  Seems so weird, putting a couple hundred 21" monitors into a virtual basket (thats gotta be one big basket)

Silly people unless ya have a credit limit of about $50,000 and confirmed as a purchase, at the end of the hour it all goes back up for sale automagically.

Can Someone tell me if these are Flat Screens and if the res is good on them. I wanna buy one but i dont wanna waste cash.  If it is shipped to me and its broken what is the warranty.. do they have to wait until they are in stock.. One more thing.. what do they mean by off lease.. i mean could these bad boys have scratches on them or anything?

The markings on the back identify it as a Sony 21" Ultrascan 1600HS, it is not a G500 series.

It is not *perfectly* flat, only horizontally flat. *The left<>right curvature is very slight to almost unnoticable. *Most of the ones I have seen have good color, when used with a BNC cable it improves to excellent color and sharpness.

You can run 1600x1200 75 hz, but I'm sure the recommended resolution is 1280x1024 at 85 or 90 hz.

I believe the 19" P991 is a perfectflat screen, or at least a lot closer to being totally flat. (Its a little newer than the 21", by about 6 months)

Dell 21"

I just avoid 1600x1200 85Hz, its pushing the monitor right to the maximum (and I want these ones to last for more than a few years.) *Monitors do not overclock like processors do.

Besides, its hard to surf at that resolution even with extra large size fonts (high res is good for adobe users tho)

WindowsXP autodetects the monitor and specifies the max refresh rates 1600x1200 @ 75hz, 1280x1024 @ 90hz, 1152x864 @100hz, 1024x768 @ 120hz, 800x600 @ 160hz, and 640x480 @160hz.

The documentation on Dell's website specifies the monitor to do a maximum 85hz at all resolutions up to 1600x1200. (I'd be willing to bet someone just got lazy and forgot to fill in the other resolutions)

I tend to believe XP, because it is confirmed by powerstrip reading EDID data straight from the monitor.

I guess it depends. I've been using a laptop with 15" LCD at 1600 x 1200 for over a year. It's wonderful even though my eyes are probably twice as old as the average on this board *

I'd never go back to lower res. In fact 1024 x 768 on my home PC can be a pain because of all the scrolling. Of course LCDs are inherently crisper than CRTs.
