Default 2008 Acura RDX Oil Leaked

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and need some help with my new RDX.

I just bought a brand new 2008 RDX 3 months ago and it have 3000 Km on the car now. last month we found oil leaked from the floor and brougth the it back to the dealer to check it out.

first time- they said oil leaked from the housing unit and they replaced it.

Still leaked

2 times- they found a pin hole from the engine block (casting defected), replaced the engine block ( not a new engine, just a new block). took it home drove for a week and found out it oil still leaked back to the dealership.

3rd time- they said oil leaked from the housing unit again and replaed it.

Still Leaked back to service

4th time- this time they got Acura Engineer look at it and they decided to replace the engine block one more time, because they said the 2nd engine block come from the same casting batch with the original engine block. I am still waiting for the new block.

I asked them about replace me with another RDX or replaced a brand new engine for me, but they (Acura) refused to do that. They said it was under warranty and will fixed the car.

What can I do? should they replace me with a new car or even with new engine ? or I should get a layer?
Thanks,

cheers

I say document everything...call Acura Head Office/Regional Head...whatever it takes...too bad we don't have Lemon Laws like the US.

You can review CAMVAP.

Best case, from CAMVAP, would be an order for a buyback of the vehicle, but that doesn't necessarily leave you whole.

If no loaner vehicle was provided for the various repair periods, then you could file a claim for these amounts.

Unfortunately, despite the frustration, it is likely best to allow them to continue to perform the repairs and file a claim to recover any out-of-pocket expenses related to the loss of use of the vehicle.

This is insane, definitely write a letter to Acura Canada to complain. Too bad we don't have lemon law here.

Wow. Definitely have to do something. The car has only 3k and should be considered as new. Don't wait until you put more mileage on it.

Wondering which dealership it is.

I would call into headquarters and raise a ruckus on it. For a car with this much trouble, not only do you want everything fixed, but you should ask them to throw on extended warranty for all the trouble they've been causing you whether it's the incompetency of the dealership mechanics or bad build quality.

and I thought Acura was God's own gift to automotive world?

Maybe I should sell my Acura and dive into a Ford/GM?

Thanks for all yours reply.

I did talk to Acura in Ontario Head Office, all they can do now is fixed the car because it is still under warranty. There is nothing the dealership can do, they just do what Acura is telling them.

I spoke to CAMVAP today, they will phone Acura as soon as I give them the file# and contact person.

Thanks Fastlane for the link to CAMVAP .

Have a nice weekend.

Cheers

It's not made in Japan?

But anyway, QC is becoming an issue lately for Japanese cars
