Just wanted to post these available positions at the Rogers Centre to anyone here or anyone you may know that may be interested.....Check following post for current openings.
How To Apply: If you enjoy being surrounded by baseball, these seasonal positions may be for you. All positions require a willingness to assist fans in a polite, friendly manner, and have strong interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Candidates should have some experience working with people in a customer-service capacity. 1) CROWD MANAGEMENT
Code: 06CM - R NATURE & SCOPE Ensure a safe and friendly atmosphere for all guests and employees. Provide discrete security at all entrances to Rogers Centre, Clubhouses, dugouts, bullpens, player¿s parking lot, family waiting area, family-seating area. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Denying entry to secured doorways to all except authorized personnel. · Performing bag checks and inspections · Ensuring all fire doors within your area of responsibility have been unlocked and padlocks and chains completely removed. · Being a control factor in entering and exiting of fans, athletes, employees, etc. · Reporting any incident (major or minor) on an Incident Report Card and submitting that report to your supervisor. · Ensuring that at the appropriate time, all fans are cleared from the corridors, ramps, washrooms, etc. before being released by a supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: · Excellent problem solving, judgment and negotiation skills · Strong ability to be assertive and influential · Excellent oral and written communication skills complimented with a friendly and professional manner · A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction · Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills · You must be able and interested in supporting a team environment 2) USHERING Code: 06U - R NATURE & SCOPE Ushering staff are primarily responsible for the correct seating and direction of the fans according to ticket location, to keep fans from other areas from sitting in incorrect seats and to proactively monitor an assigned area for safety and medical issues. Staff are expected to attend a pre-game meeting before gates open. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Being certain that each fan is met with a warm smile and a friendly "May I be of help?" or "Good evening/afternoon". · Checking each ticket completely, noting date, level, section, row and seat, at all times. · Being certain that each fan is directed or accompanied, if possible, to the correct seat, at all times. · Keeping fans moving, thus avoiding congestion that will eliminate blocked entrances, concourses, stairways and ramps. · Receiving and acting on complaints from fans or referring them to an ushering supervisor if unable to satisfy fan. · Being alert for the safety of all fans. · Having complete understanding of Rogers Centre and all event policies. You are accountable for your own actions. · Reporting any incident (major or minor) on an Incident Report Card and submitting that report to your supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: · Excellent oral and written communication skills complimented with a friendly and professional manner · A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction · Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines · Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills · You must be able and interested in supporting a team environment · Strong problem solving skills 3) TICKET TAKER CODE: 06TT - R NATURE & SCOPE A Ticket Taker is primarily responsible for the admission of our fans upon the presentation of a valid ticket and to deny entrance to all unauthorized persons. Staff are expected to attend a pre-game meeting before gates open. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Being certain that each fan is greeted with a warm smile and a friendly ¿Good afternoon/evening¿ or other appropriate phrase. · Scan tickets for verification and ensuring that only valid ticket holders are allowed entry to Rogers Centre · Directing the fan in the general direction of their seating area, to alternate gates and/or points of interest. · Receiving and acting on complaints from fans or referring them to a ticket taker captain of supervisor if unable to satisfy fan. · Having complete understanding of Blue Jay policies. You are accountable for your own actions. · Reporting any incident (major or minor) or potential problems on an Incident Report Card and submitting that report to your supervisor or captain. QUALIFICATIONS: · Excellent oral and written communication skills complimented with a friendly and professional manner · A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction · Some basic familiarity with computers and PDA¿s · Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills · You must be able and interested in supporting a team environment 4) GAMEDAY TICKET SALES Code: 06TS - R NATURE & SCOPE Ticket window sellers are primarily responsible for the selling of computer-generated baseball tickets to our fans. Other associated duties will apply from time to time. Staff must attend pre-game meetings prior to the ticket window openings. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Being certain that each fan is met with a warm smile and a friendly ¿May I be of help?¿ or ¿Good evening/afternoon¿. · Ensuring each ticket sold is for correct date, price and location. · Able to handle our fans in an expeditious manner to avoid waiting time. · Answer customer¿s inquiries in an efficient and professional manner. · Balancing the daily deposit with the total sales (accuracy essential) · Able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays. · Provide correct directions to each fan relating to stadium entrances and direction to/from Rogers Centre. · Receiving and acting on complaints in a friendly and efficient manner from fans in relation to their tickets, or referring to Box Office Supervisor if unable to satisfy fan. · Having a knowledgeable understanding of Blue Jays policies and the game of baseball. QUALIFICATIONS · Excellent oral and written communication skills complimented with a friendly and professional manner. · A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction. · Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines. · Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills. · You must be able and interested in supporting a team environment and adhering to the Toronto Blue Jays Mission and Policies. · Strong problem solving skills. · Knowledge of the game of baseball. · Computer skills required. 5) Ground Crew Code: 06GC - R NATURE & SCOPE A Groundskeeper is primarily responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Rogers Centre¿s Baseball Field, ensuring it meets Major League Baseball Standards. This job regularly entails heavy lifting of 50 lbs, running up to 100 meters and working long hours. This is an hourly, seasonal, part time position. Some evening, weekends and holidays will be required. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Being available to work all home games and conversions. · The installation and maintenance of the baseball field to Major League Baseball¿s specifications before each home stand and its removal after each home stand · Set-up and tear down of promotional signage and equipment for ceremonies or special events. · General upkeep and maintenance of the indoor batting tunnel and bullpen mounds. · During the games, sprinting out to clean the field after every 5 innings. This involves running 100 meters onto the field; quickly groom the field and finally sprinting 100 meters off the field. · Securing the field during the game, including the prevention and removal of trespassers. · Reporting all incidents (major or minor) on an incident report form and submitting to your supervisor. · Assist with distribution of promotional items to gates when needed. · Substitute for Ball Boy when needed. · The loading and unloading of equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: · Must be enthusiastic, dedicated, and physically fit, with the ability and willingness to frequently lift 50 lbs and Run up to 200 meters daily, as part of the 5th Inning Clean up. · Excellent oral and written communication skills complimented with a friendly and professional manner. · You must be able and interested in supporting a team environment and carry out your tasks in an efficient and timely manner. · Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
